I just hope that we don't burn Baron too much and have him run out of gas. On the plus side Biedrens and Ellis are getting a lot of game time eperience that will help them and the team at the end of the season.
<div class="quote_poster">AnimeFANatic Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">God I hope Baron plays 82 games this year.</div>I hope so too but he's been playing a lot of 40+ minute games this year, I'm a little worried about that. Hopefully Nellie is just doing that until Murph and Ike get back, and until Monta improves and learns to not get in foul trouble.
Biedrins did great and didn't foul out! Almost did though 9-16 and 4 blocks. Now thats a huge upgrade over Foyle no?
<div class="quote_poster">Rudeezy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Yea ben made them a lot better defensively but you arent the best defensive team in the league because of one player. They are a very good defensive team and beating a defensive minded team like the Pistons by 30 whether or not its on the second half of a back to back is impressive.</div> That's true. Beating a team by 30 is impressive no matter who it is. But, defensively I don't think they are that great this season, but it is still early. They are 12th in points allowed this season. And opponent FG percentage is 45.5 (good for 19th in the league) which is slightly higher than the warriors 45.2. They also didn't have RIP in that game. Maybe it is a chemistry thing so far. Still early in the season for sure.
I admit that I was wrong about Baron. I thought he was all talk like usual. But he's really impressed me so far. I hope he can keep it up.
Yeah Baron already has 44+ minutes already...I just noticed if he could somehow pull off two boards, two assists, and two steals he'd end up with 30/20/10/5... But I wish Steve Kerr were a GM. I think he might take Dunleavy from this team. Dunleavy looks like a clown slipping "on the banana peel" and he just acts so slowly. The time he just gave the ball to Artest was pathetic. This guy is supposed to have this great IQ but he keeps the ball loose for a guy like Artest? Also when Dunleavy runs the fast break, things just do not work. This is for both him handling the ball and him moving without the ball. One time he hides behind someone or at least doesn't work to get open and be a threat which ends up hurting Baron, especially after he wanted to use flair and had confidence that one of the two off the ball players would be open, especially Dunleavy; and then when he had the ball on a 3-on-2 or somehing like that in good position he just decides to be too passive and doesn't take advantage of the opportunity. On a good note: It is good to see The Boss and Pietrus being on the same page again. What excitement!
Good game overall and i saw that play where dunleavy slipped and i couldn't help but laugh. I hope J-Rich can hurry up and get his legs back because i think we'll be very hard to stop with this team fully recovered
Monster game by Davis with 36 pts / 18 assists / 8 rebounds / 8 TO, almost quadriple double . Truly impressive game. Pietrus is filling in very nicely when Richardson is recovering from the injury. 26 pts with 12-16 shooting. Er, can we somehow resign him? Seems like he is getting back to 'old' Pietrus. Another dominating performance by Biedrins with 9 pts/ 16 boards / 4 blocks. I noticed that he is trying to be more involved in offense, although it will take quite a long time . Horrible shooting night though. Only 3 out of 6. I wonder how good this team really is. In one hand, we fought against Kings, who just played yesterday. But, in other hand, we defeated Hornets, Pistons and Kings, which aren't exactly cheesecake teams. Either way, we are certainly stacking wins in this home stand...
Gotta love TNT's postgame show, they spent about one minute on GS-Sacto, then about 10 minutes talking about the Sixers. WTF? Anyway, Gohn, the Warriors also did beat NOK, who are 6th best in pts allowed, and now the Kings, who are 5th best (although after tonight's 117 they will probably slide some). When the Warriors get into a running groove, when Baron's game is on, when Monta and Andris and Pietrus are jumping all over the court, it doesn't really seem to matter what the defense of the opposing team is. The other teams good defense is based on, in large part, playing teams NOT like the Warriors. When they play the Warrior's style, it changes all the rules and many of the things they do defensively no longer work or don't apply. For example, you aren't going to be blocking Monta Ellis' shot in the paint if he is 8 feet out in front of the other 9 players on the court on a break. You'll also have a hard time clamping down on just one or two star players as you might do with other teams, because the Warriors normally have 4-5 scorers on the floor at the same time, and a lot of guys who can pass.

I guess I'm still a little pessimistic how good this team actually is. They are definitely better than last year. But it's still too early in the season for me to judge how good they are. Though I am impressed so far, especially by Baron's play and the offense as a whole. Well over a hundred points in the last few games.
<div class="quote_poster">AnimeFANatic Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I KNEW this was going to happen. Warriors never get any love.</div> They won't get love until they secure a playoff spot. Screw the entire TNT cast though because they don't know what they're talking about and it's obvious they spent about an average of zero minutes studying the W's. "Baron Davis is not a great post-up player." Dude, because of Baron Davis' post-up ability, we are actually able to run somewhat of a half-court offense!
<div class="quote_poster">AlleyOop Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Wow. Dunleavy played tough, hard-nosed defense on Ron Artest. I think I've seen it all!</div> I think Dunleavy had a decent game...nothing too impressive but at least he wasn't invisible. He hit that three in transition and made a few good passes that won't be on the stat sheet. I think the least we can ask of Dunleavy is not to be a non-factor. I believe I was listening to Nellie on the radio in the pre-game and he said that Dunleavy's MO is that he has one good game and then disappears the next.

He suffered at defense end, but he made up with nearly flawless shooting night. At this point, that's all we expect. And, I don't think he was booed today...
I watched Dun closely, and what I saw was a player who made a concerted effort (most of the time) to play phyiscal, put a body on Artest and disrupt his rythm. He was boxing out, contesting shots, and not even thinking about trying to flop. I've never seen Dunleavy play defense like that. Thank goodness that Nellie can just openly criticize a player and have that player take it to heart. It seems like Dun was trying to do exactly what Nellie identified as his weakness. I'm not saying he is suddenly a good defender (and of course Artest tallied 20 pts when all was said and done) and also Pietrus guarded Artest for many minutes too, but Dunleavy had a solid defensive game IMO and frankly that was weird to watch!
This is before I saw anyone else's posts, I saw the box score and I got two words: Holy sht!!!! Anyway nite. I hope to catch this on Tivo!
I watched the first half and then fell asleep, then caught the last few minutes with the Warriors up big. I am impressed with the quality teams we have beaten so far, but they have only been at home. I will reserve my enthusiasm until after we go on a big road trip. If we can play .500 on the road against good teams like Houston, Dallas and San Antonio etc, then I will say this team might be better than last year's. But for now, I am still remembering our 12-6 start, then Baron got injured and it all went to hell. We are only about 10 games into the season, so there is still time to fall apart...
