The Rockets are winning right now, unless it's really urgent lets keep Bonzi out of action so he doesn't ruin a good thing Wouldn't want to mess up good team chemistry.
Van Gundy picked the wrong fight!! Theres uneccesary tension between the coach and Bonzi, all over Van Gundy not playin him WE NEED BONZI. Yea we're winning, but we should be even better with Bonzi. If you decide ur gonna play the guy, we in the HELL would you put him back on the injured list. STUPID..I dought he even suits up for the rockets this season
The blame for all of this falls squarely on Bonzi. He didn't keep himself in shape in the offseason, and he's been half-assing it ever since he came to Houston. It's the player's responsibility to keep himself fit and comply with the coach's expectations. JVG is holding him to the same standard as everyone else, but Bonzi thinks he's entitled to special treatment. I said when we signed him that I thought his attitude could be a problem. I didn't think it would be this bad, though.

After comin off an injury, ur not gonna be in great shape. But when ur a great player like Bonzi, the team can benefit jus by havin you on the court. Why not let the guy play? Let him work his way back into shape. BUT NO, JVG decides he wants to put him back on the injured list because "he's not ready". That's bullsh*t! Now the situation is about to get ugly because it just so happened that Snyder got injured and we don't have a legit 3rd option. The WORST POSSIBLE SCENARIO. Bonzi's attitude is what this teams needs. They need a pitbull, but JVG screwed it up. If Bonzi wasn't workin out, then I guess the reports of him workin out are not true.

I loved the signing and was so excited about it, but after all the attitude and bad work ethic he's shown, I have been turned off. We don't need a lazy ass like Bonzi. He's been giving the Rockets all sorts of lazy and personal excuses. Not to be overconfident or anything, but when we go up 9-4 tomorrow, you'll realize you were wrong to think we needed Bonzi to win.
U ppl are goin off his past reputation and judgin him in the present. You can't downplay his significance to this team. If we don't use him, our team will suffer.
<div class="quote_poster">AznxBaller Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">It doesn't look like its been suffering so far.</div> I can't quite understand ur expectations. Maybe i'm the only one who sees the significance of Bonzi on this team. Jus because we're a good team this season doesn't mean we're gonna be a threat in the playoffs. If we're gonna make the next step to a championship, Bonzi has to play for the Rockets. If we're only aiming to make the playoffs, then i can see how u guys don't really care. You would think with Snyder out we'd be a little more concerned.

If he's still overweight, then I don't see why we have to go through all this. No rush to play him; he's played in two games and has been terrible in both. I don't see the part where he helps us as much as you're claiming he could.
From Bilnebury's blog: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> At Ken's request, here is our latest Bonzi Wells tracking: It seems our boy, who wants so badly to be on the court, took a late flight back to Houston and got into town too late to make Friday's practice. That did not sit well with JVG. Wells is not active again tonight. Happy Thanksgiving, Bonzi. </div>
http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/sports/15989086.htm since some of u may have missed it.. from a couple weeks ago.. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Wonder what the Rockets are thinking of their two-year, $4 million investment in Bonzi Wells, who showed up at camp, a Rocketman insists, at a whopping 240 pounds after looking for a new home all summer instead of playing ball. Then, Wells - who was nursing a pulled groin - declined Jeff Van Gundy's invitation to join the team in Dallas for a preseason game. Van Gundy told Wells to go home, get in shape and decide whether he really wanted to be in Houston. (Those were the "personal reasons" the team cited for Wells' absence for a good chunk of the preseason.) Wells is now back with the team, but is way at the back of Van Gundy's rotation... .</div> and http://www.nbcsports.com/nba/470281/detail.html <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Van Gundy could not guarantee that Wells would rejoin the team. "I don't think you ever lose track of the big picture," he said. "I don't have a definitive way it's going to play out, certainly. I'm hoping for the best. Any veteran you sign you have specific plans of how you plan to best utilize his talents. "In Bonzi's case, that would be no different. Yet, sometimes things don't work exactly as planned. We have a lot of guys people have also been clamoring to see."</div> Could Bonzi eventually end up in Miami after all?

Tmac started off horrible, but played himself back into shape. Bonzi can do the same thing. Let him go thru his down periods early and slowly he'll get acclamated too the system and teammates. If you can't see where Bonzi can help this team ur blind as a bat. Snyder is out, and we don't have a legitimate 3rd option. Ur talkin about a player who can single handely takeover a game by himself. That by itself shows u his importance to this team.
i'm all for bonzi for posey, but whatever the case, he still has to pass a physical and who knows if he'd pass that.

I just said that I couldn't see him helping us as much as you're claiming. We're a 9-4 team, how much better could Wells make us? Which of those four losses could he have helped us out of? Also, TMac was never out of shape; he was shooting badly. Of course you let him work his way back! Wells is out of shape; he couldn't even stay on the court with enough energy for 20 minutes, why bother upsetting the rotation? Whose minutes is Wells going to take? Surely you can't say Battier?

How about against San Antonio when we couldn't hit a shot or go to the free throw line in the 4th quarter? Yes we're winning, but our team is very shaky in the 4th quarters of games. Bonzi can single handely take a game over. That gives us another weapon off the bench that can give us a much needed spark. He's CLEARLY better than any player on the bench, so whoever minutes he takes it's still gonna be positive. You must wanna go back to the David Wesley days when we played little unathletic shooting guards. Spanoulis is good, but he shouldn't get minutes over Bonzi.
After not playing for a long time, I dont think Bonzi will be normal right away. The guy has been offcourt and never really got in shape and I dont think he'll be as effective as he was in post season when he really took games over? Rock4Life, do you really think that he can be the same again after not being on the court for so long? I agree he can take the game over, but he can't do that for us right now. He isn't in shape and hasn't played bball for a while. He will provide a spark off the bench that might help us hold the lead in 4th quarter, and I agree that if he takes anyone's spot from the bench, it will be positive. Spanoulis doesn't deserve as many minutes as Bonzi. If Bonzi can start practicing with the team and get back in shape in about 2 weeks. I say let him be the 6th man or possibly let him start, because we know when Bonzi is healthy, he is a player that is able to take games over. He just needs time to practice, but for right now, let him get about 20 minutes a game.
I'm not saying he's gonna give 20 and 10 off the bat. But I'm saying let him play his way back, and by the playoffs he'll be ready to go. The Rockets can't score sometimes, and we desperatley need a 3rd scorer who can create. Some of you don't quite see that.........

Also, you mention someone who can create. Wells probably can't outrun even Juwan Howard right now.
