<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OAKLAND -- Warriors forward Troy Murphy blamed too-tight tape. Coach Don Nelson pointed the finger at mysterious "foot fairies." No matter the cause, the Warriors agreed on one thing: The hope that Murphy's sore left Achilles tendon can be contained as a brief problem, rather than a lingering injury. To that end, Murphy sat out Thursday night, missing a second consecutive game with his left foot encased in a walking boot. "That's why they shut me down," said Murphy, who has been wearing the boot since being diagnosed with inflammation in his Achilles tendon just before the Warriors' 110-99 win over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday. "We want it to be the kind of thing that goes away in a couple of days and doesn't linger and is not the type of thing where you have to play with it for a month. Something you can just kind of nip in the bud right now." Murphy said he's scheduled to get an MRI exam today or Saturday, "just to be safe." He originally felt the pinching pain about a week ago, but chalked it up to a blister, a common occurrence because he double-tapes his ankles so forcefully. The blister went away but the pain remained, leading Murphy to see the team doctors on Tuesday. They located a "little bubble" of inflammation, Murphy said. It's not known if Murphy will be available for Saturday's game against the Seattle SuperSonics. "We'll give it a couple of days to cool down, get off it completely, then see where we are," he said.</div> Source
Well we've won some games without him. He shouldn't hurry back anytime soon. I think chemistry wise, we are better without him. This is a prediction: Ike and Beans are the wave of the future for frontline.

It appears that the theory about how there is a certain number of easy rebounds that someone has to collect in a game and Murphy got nearly all of them was true but he still helps alot on the defensive rebounds and hes been shooting and passing the ball very well in the games he played. Its probably been harder to get boards for him when hes playing almost exclusively on the perimeter on offense and has to leak out to start the break, plus guys like Pietrus, JR, and Monta have been told to hit the boards hard so they can secure the board and push. He can still get 7-8 boards a night with Biedrins getting heavy minutes, I think hes a bit timid to throw himself around inside ever since he got his nose broken but he should come out of it eventually. Hes had 2 games with 20 points in 7 games, 3 games with 4 assists, shooting 48% FG, 38% from 3, 76% from the FT line (this should improve too). Hes gotten a few easy dunks from leaking out, and hes successfully spreading he floor since hes hitting his shots, his man defense has been pretty solid too. Hes still not your ideal big man but hes definitely a helpful scoring option who is capable of clearing the glass and causing a mismatch.
He is helpful, but sooner or later Biedrins + Ike could fit in very well as F/C, especially if we're forced to keep Dunleavy at SF. But we have to develop those guys first before we trade the vet player. I hope Murphy is good enough to trade so we can make room very soon.
