The Nets who came off a great win Friday night square up against a young Portland team to started off hot but cooled off dropping four games in a row, including a embarssing 28 points loss to the Boston Celtics Friday night. <font size=""4"">Keys to Nets Win</font> ~Get Vince Carter hot from the get-go. Nenad may have a difficult time on the offensive end going up against Zach Randolph. Carter who will be guarded by a smaller Juan Dixion should have his way with him, since Dixion isn't a great defensive player. ~Contain Zach Randolph. Randolph has started off the season at a MVP type level avereging 26 points and 10 rebounds. Collins and Uncle Cliffy are going to have their hands full. ~Other players step up. Carter and Nenad have carried the scoring load for a while, other players like Wright have to step it up. Kidd has to continue controlling the tempo, and MARCUS WILLIAMS HAS TO MAKE THOSE OPEN SHOTS. <font size=""4"">Portlands Keys</font> ~Get Zach Randolph going. Keep giving him the ball from the begining. He is much quicker than Collins so he may have his way with him. ~Contain Vince. The Blazers really don't have a key defensive wing, with Darius Miles out for the season, so this may be a little hard, but if Vince starts off cold they may be fine. ~Lamarcus Aldridge. When Toronto took Bargani over him i was very dissapointed. Aldridge who started off the season hurt, has played in 4 games, including starting in Boston on Friday, has been averging 10.5 points and about 6 boards. This kid may be something real special, and has been doing a good job so far
This game is on at 4:30 Pacific time? I thinks this game should be an easy win, but then again I don't know how the Blazers take 4 losses in a row. They might come out fired up but in the end I think we got this game.
Well it's 13-0 Portland, so your not missing much. The Nets just seem to stand in their place, waiting for someone to score.
<div class="quote_poster">Kidd Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Well it's 13-0 Portland, so your not missing much. The Nets just seem to stand in their place, waiting for someone to score.</div> The bad thing is that it froze so the score is stuck like that for now.
Now it's clear. 23-5??? We are getting murdered by the Portland Trail Blazers. The only good thing is that Randolph is on my fantasy team.
<div class="quote_poster">Carter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">We only have 8 points in the 1st quarter. Against the Portland Trail Blazers! </div> They are a talented team, but it's no excuse. Maybe it's back to back games? Not an excuse either, especially since the Blazers are coming from back to back games. We just need to get our ish together.
They are a talented team with a bright future, but they have four straight losses and we are at home.
Awful game. We couldn't score, while Portland were able to make shots. It didn't matter if we played great defense, we ended up missing anyway. This is what kills the Nets. We are better than Portland, so we should win this game. We can't lose to teams that we can beat. I understand we can't win every game, but losing by 18+ to a struggling team is unacceptable. Kidd 12 pts 6 rebs 6 asts Carter 18 pts 6 rebs Wright 9 pts 8 rebs Krstic 13 pts 7 rebs Williams 2 pts 3 asts Boki 11 pts
I can understand that we lost to the Blazers cause they were fired up to win. They had 4 straight losses in a row and needed a win more than us so they out hustled us, played great D, and all of their shots were going down. They did a great job of containg Carter, Kidd, and Krstic. Our bench wasn't there tonight and we deserved to lose this game. Like Kidd said there was no excuse to losing to a struggling team. We won't be taken seiuosly as title contenders if we lose to teams below 500.
I hope this is a wake-up call to Thorn that we NEED a power forward. I know Collins is a great defender, but we can't afford to be playing 4 on 5 on offense, especially when RJ is out. That is a team we should kill.
i want to c hassan adams getting minutes, he is atheletic enough to help us. Also moore isnt doing a bad job when he gets minutes either, coach is just hoping carter can do all the scoring everynight, and it wont work everynight.
WTF happened to them ?;D They scored only 68 points, haha !;D You Nets' fans must be really frustrated, losing to Portland (but yeah, Portland hasn't been so bad team like last season, but the Nets are still much stronger than Trailblazers and it should've been a W). Sh*t happens !
