It says the biggest lead for the Rockets was only 12, so it wasn't as bad a loss I guess as the Spurs game. I think the Rockets will improve as the season goes on, especially if Tmac becomes his old self. They are doing good already, especially compared to last season.
When Billups, Rip and Sheed all have big games the Pistons rarely lose. Mainly at the palace. Don't think Yao and T-mac could do much more.

I thought Rip Hamilton, in particular, did an excellent job on McGrady. I think our team is just too dependent on getting the ball either to McGrady or Yao. And when the opposing team is aggressive with their ball denial it really stifles our offense. This has been a problem for us three games in a row.
You ppl sit up here and say "We need some help". But then turn ur head when someone mentions Bonzi. WHERE THE HELL IS BONZI WELLS? i don't care if he's not in shape enuff for Van Gundy. We NEED him to contribute at this point.
^We do need to get him some minutes, even if he is not a 3rd scorer. Only way he can get in game shape is by playing the damn game. J-Ho was garbage tonight. We need Chuck Hayes back. Does anyone else think it's coincedence that we started losing games when Chuck Hayes left? Well, the Spurs are a tough squad, but the Pistons are beatable. Back in the 04-05 season we would be clutch in the 4th, but that was because McGrady dominated. Even with a completely new squad we still have the 4th quarter problem (when we are up big, but lose it in the 4th.) Rockets = heart problems by the time you are 40.
Trade Juwan for a backup center because JVG needs to stop playing oldies like Scott padgett and dekembe. Even tho I like Mutumbo, he really needs to retire.

He's obviously not a good scorer in traffic, and his hands are like bricks, but he's been rebounding very well and generally has been a very effective defensive player. In fact, the Rockets made their biggest runs against the Pistons with Mutombo in the game. They were +14 with him on the court (team best), and actually -21 with Yao on the court (team worst).

Novak?
<div class="quote_poster">durvasa Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">So who else on the roster should backup Yao? Novak?</div> Stick Deke and Novak in the game, it would've spread the floor well. Instead we went with Padgett who did horse-crap the entire game. Atleast we could've switched it up with Battier guarding 'Sheed, Novak on Prince, McGrady on Hamilton, and Snyder on Billups. It wouldn't even be for that long, so T-Mac wouldn't be running around after Hamilton for an extended period of time. Padgett missed so many open looks, as did Howard, Novak would've made those with ease.
<div class="quote_poster">TmacGarnett Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I don't understand why padgett is getting any playing time at all.</div> The only reason I could think why JVG allowed Padgett to play is because Padgett knows JVG's system. Darn, when will I see Novak in action?
Ok I am seriously tired of Yao Ming turning the ball over about 3 times every game. This is what we do: Example: Alston gives Yao the ball on the post. He goes behind Yao for a backdoor pass, but Yao doesnt give it to him. After he goes behind Yao, the opposing 1 just comes out of nowhere and rips Yao. Yao needs to friggin realize that the defense might come from nowhere and just rip him. He looks one way and someone else just rips him. He needs to be a little more aggresive also. I am tired of Yao playing and acting all weak. The guy needs to be aggressive and realize when and where the defense is. Also, last game he either took to long to post up and got ripped while posting up by either Chauncey or Rip or he hurried his shot up. When posting up, he needs to look on both sides to see where the defense is at, and he needs to wait for Alston/Head to go behind him and then post up. He just looks on one side and Billups come from the other side and takes the ball from him. We made some dumb mistakes on offense last night.
