Playing on four days' rest, Bryant had 31 points and 11 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Lakers held on to beat the last-place Toronto Raptors 107-100 Friday night, when he went over the 17,000-point mark. "My leg feels good and I started getting some of that explosion," he said. "I was able to turn it up. Four days off helped a lot."</div> Source
These (quickest/fastest) records are so meaningless, especially when it's based on age. They shpuld do it by games played or minutes played, if anything. But Lebron will take all of these records anyways. It's meaningless.
<div class="quote_poster">Bobcats Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">LeBron will have all the fastest/youngest player records when all is said and done.</div> let Kobe have the spotlight today. ITs his day, not lebrons. Thats all I hear from all these guys on Lebrons jockstrap and it makes me sick to my stomach.

<div class="quote_poster">Bobcats Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">How am I on LeBrons jockstrap?</div> If you were, you could sell it on ebay for big bucks! Now that I think of it, I wonder if people would buy something like that. seems weird.
I didnt mention any names did I. But yesterday, while I watched the game with some buddies of mine, I heard quite a few who said that Kobe's record was nothing... Lebron would break it anyway. When Lebron does it, its his turn, right now, its all about Mr. Bryant. Any record Lebron breaks in the future involving points, will probrably be broken by Kobe first. My point is, it makes me sick when I hear all this about Lebron breaking the records so Kobe's records dont matter.. Let the guy enjoy his record breaking. When its Lebron's turn, its all good. Everything seems to involve Lebron somehow, and that annoys me. When did I mention your name in the thread anyway? I dont recall. You assume to quickly.

When it all comes down to it, both Kobe and Lebron benefit from coming into the league out of high school. Lebron will probrably break all Kobe records eventually since he's always been the star player for the Cavs. He get the most looks and touches and the offense flows through him. Kobe didnt really start putting up serious numbers until his third season. I dont doubt what you say. Lebron will probrably break them eventually anyway.. As long as the NBA continues not to allow players to enter the draft until a certain age, these records should stand pretty long. Im crossing my fingers that Bynum steps up!! He can still crack these records! haha...

Point is, Kobe broke the record for now, give him credit where it's due. When Lebron breaks the record, give him credit when it's due. Trench is saying that you guys constantly mentioning Lebron for every accomplishment Kobe has is quite annoying. Lebron hasn't even broken the record yet, when he does, then you can bring him up in this conversation.

I think the thing people forget is that wilt who previously held that record was 23 when he entered the league and already had 17, 000 points by 28.
Wilt was in a league of his own back then. When your season average is over 50 points a game, that is just phenominal.
every basketball fan has always his name in their mouth KOBE!.thats is ridiculous,he breaks the record and thas it, stop hating.the records were invented to be broken, LEBRON, broke this,(12) 3 pointers IN a game,(9 straight 3 pointers whitout a missed thats another record)(youngest starting and playing in a all-star game)he breaks almost every lakers record(most points in a first half 42, against JORDAN)(MOST CONSECUTIVE free trows made (62) the streak ended in the day he has the second highest scoring performence in nba history and the highest in team history (81!)points, he score (55) points in a half.has the second highest scoring performence in a quarter (30)another laker record, (2836) points in a season, laker record, (35.4 ppg)in a season, 8 highest in nba history behind WILT, JORDAN,BARRY).(3)Times avereged (40)or more in a month second best, laker record)(13) consecutive games whit (35) or more another laker record (9) straight games whit (40)points or more,(62) points in 33 minutes, and goes on and on, thats is A few stats and records to remember, respect the (black mamba).
Well the way I see it, unless Lebron breaks it, it'll stay up there for a very long time. Once the last of the high school players hit their prime, this record will lose much of its significance. Congrats to Kobe, though.
