<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Kobe Bryant showed signs of his old explosiveness and took over in the fourth quarter, signaling his surgically repaired right knee is getting better.

Playing on four days' rest, Bryant had 31 points and 11 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Lakers held on to beat the last-place Toronto Raptors 107-100 Friday night, when he went over the 17,000-point mark.

"My leg feels good and I started getting some of that explosion," he said. "I was able to turn it up. Four days off helped a lot."</div>

Congrats to Kobe, definitely one of the best scorers (if not best) in the league.

LeBron will have all the fastest/youngest player records when all is said and done.

These (quickest/fastest) records are so meaningless, especially when it's based on age. They shpuld do it by games played or minutes played, if anything.

But Lebron will take all of these records anyways. It's meaningless.

If you were, you could sell it on ebay for big bucks! [IMG]

Now that I think of it, I wonder if people would buy something like that. seems weird.

I didnt mention any names did I. But yesterday, while I watched the game with some buddies of mine, I heard quite a few who said that Kobe's record was nothing... Lebron would break it anyway. When Lebron does it, its his turn, right now, its all about Mr. Bryant. Any record Lebron breaks in the future involving points, will probrably be broken by Kobe first. My point is, it makes me sick when I hear all this about Lebron breaking the records so Kobe's records dont matter.. Let the guy enjoy his record breaking. When its Lebron's turn, its all good. Everything seems to involve Lebron somehow, and that annoys me.

When did I mention your name in the thread anyway? I dont recall. You assume to quickly.

Well, somebody did once buy a piece of gum that was chewed by Britney Spears....for $10,000.

My mistake, but I still think LeBron is going to get all those youngest/fastest player records, barring a serious injury.

When it all comes down to it, both Kobe and Lebron benefit from coming into the league out of high school. Lebron will probrably break all Kobe records eventually since he's always been the star player for the Cavs. He get the most looks and touches and the offense flows through him. Kobe didnt really start putting up serious numbers until his third season. I dont doubt what you say. Lebron will probrably break them eventually anyway.. As long as the NBA continues not to allow players to enter the draft until a certain age, these records should stand pretty long.

Im crossing my fingers that Bynum steps up!! He can still crack these records! haha...

That's not the point. Point is, Kobe broke the record for now, give him credit where it's due. When Lebron breaks the record, give him credit when it's due. Trench is saying that you guys constantly mentioning Lebron for every accomplishment Kobe has is quite annoying. Lebron hasn't even broken the record yet, when he does, then you can bring him up in this conversation.

I think the thing people forget is that wilt who previously held that record was 23 when he entered the league and already had 17, 000 points by 28.

Wilt was in a league of his own back then. When your season average is over 50 points a game, that is just phenominal.

Well the way I see it, unless Lebron breaks it, it'll stay up there for a very long time. Once the last of the high school players hit their prime, this record will lose much of its significance. Congrats to Kobe, though.

What you've got to remember too is Kobe has had 2 seasons scoring under 1,000 points.
