Honestly, I forgot all about him. Do you guys think he will ever come to play for us? If he does, he isn't going to have a significant role because Darko is now our young Euro power forward. He would give us some depth (we need more bigs) so I wouldn't mind him playing as long as we give him like next to nothing. If he does ever come he's going to get hell from most Magic fans though.

That guy is an a-hole. I don't have any respect for what he did. Clearly unprofessional. I'm not a Magic fan or anything, but man, his actions pissed me off.

2009/2010!? Thats like 4 seasons away. I say release him from his Magic contract or whatever he is on, he clearly doesnt want to play in the NBA, so tell him to get stuffed.

It's not Fran's fault the Magic drafted him. He was in shock when they selected him. The Magic never worked him out and never even discussed joining their team. Because of his age, he was automatically eligible for the draft, but there wasn't any relationship or commitment on his end to play for the Magic or any other NBA team.

It's the European guy we drafted two seasons ago with the 11th pick. He played overseas rather than coming to the NBA.

I'm not sure if you were serious or if you were saying he's dead to you. [IMG]

    I am saying that.

Trade the rights to Fran Vasquez for a second round pick, please.

Fran was at the draft when Orlando selected him and he talked about playing for them right after they picked him. If he didn't intend on playing in the Nba then why come to the draft? He used the Magic to get more money from his Euro team, this guy wasn't "shocked" He came to the draft knowing he would get drafted and probly be a lottery pick at that.

Nobody cares about Fran anymore, I say if or when he wants to come back to the NBA and play for the Magic we dont let him. We dont even need him.

If I were the Magic, I would try to trade his rights for a 2nd rounder. There is some team out there that would probably we willing to trade a 2nd rounder or 2 for a pretty good big man that might come over. By the time he does come, I think he could probably be contributor like Garbajosa is doing now.

That cute guy you've seen is Fran V?zquez, a 6-10 Spanish guy that made a great season on Unicaja Malaga, a top-3 ACB (Spanish League) team. He experienced a fast improvement that year, but the presence of Pepe S?nchez (Argentina's starting PG, great passer) and Jorge Garbajosa (MVP, was his partner in the paint) clearly influenced its exponential melioration.

Firstly, he was picked on #11 on 2005 NBA draft after that great season and he seemed to be happy with the possibility of joining a NBA team that believed on him. That summer, a squad that was a mid-down league team until that moment, got sponsored by a nascent -and big- build company who offered him earn "more money than he'd ever dreamed". He prefered flying to Orlando, but, as he admitted, his girlfriend didn't let him go to the US. Extravagant, but true. He ended playing for Akasvayu Girona. He didn't play too good on 2005-06 season and last summer was traded to Barcelona. This year he's making pathetic numbers -except on a couple of matches where he showed a decent level- and I don't see him as a NBA prospect anymore.

He is a highly talented player, but I think his head -and the power of his girlfriend- will reduce drastically its career development.

Probably the most awful and lasting bumbling decision of the John Weisbrod era. I feel bad for you guys seeing now what a terrible pick that was. At least it's something for the future, though; the team clearly has enough young, maturing talent to win now, and whenever Fran decides to come over, either he'll add to the solid young nucleus or could become attracitve trade bait. I'm just glad that the Magic are winning now, or Swish would have a hit out on Weisbrod for this situation [IMG] [IMG]

a side note - does anyone else think he looks a bit like Mr. Ed? [IMG]

Whatever. 09/10? Why even say that, we know it won't happen..

Doesn't sound like a guy who would be good for this team. Let him do his thing in whatever country hes in. The Magic does not need him.

I think if you're going to bash a guy, do it in an intelligent way.

He's obviously hurt the team and deserves some of the ridicule he's gotten, but saying stuff like "lmao...he's her bitch lmfao...he's so whipped...i swear if i saw him i would spit in his face, he is a disgrace to all men" just comes off as plain rude to me.
