I was wondering this myself, as he is leading with 30.1 PPG... I give him an 80% chance to win the scoring title, but Redd, LBJ, Kobe and AI (always there) will surely give him a run for his money.
<div class="quote_poster">kobe23 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">he tends to have off games and when he's off he shoot like 4 for 20 and has 10 pts</div> Off games? His lowest point total this season is 15, and that's only because he got ejected early and played only 21 minutes. And his worst shooting performance of the season so far was 42%. That's better than Allen Iversons entire season average (40%).
A I, LeBron, and Carmelo all have an equal chance to win the scoring title and, if I had to bet, I'd bet on Carmelo. George Karl has this team runnin and gunnin and these 7-1 Nuggets (last 8 games) are for real. This is the team and this is the time in his career for Carmelo to drop most of those dud games.
I think this season we are seeing a different 'Melo, espeically after last summer. I have little doubt he can keep the lead and end up with the scoring title at season's end and be really primed for the playoffs.
I think carmleo is turning into a dominant player in the league, but i dont think this is his year. I think its a pretty safe bet to say iverson will get it this year. literally no one else on the sixers are playing like they want to win. Iverson is going to dominate in minutes and the teams shots this year.
This is crazy, another 33 points from him today, he's been 3 points off having eleven 30+ games in a row, he's really proving himself this season.
I see Carmelo making very consistently 30 points; but Iverson will have weeks in which he makes over 40 points on average and at the end he will have a slightly better average. LeBron will start scoring more too once the season progresses.

Carmelo is currently 2nd in the NBA in FGA/G to only Iverson with 21.8 FGA/G. He's also first in FGA/48 minutes by a pretty big margin to everyone but Iverson with 28.7 FGA/48. Iverson is at 27.8 FGA/48. So if he can keep that up, then he can quite easily win it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">he tends to have off games and when he's off he shoot like 4 for 20 and has 10 pts</div> This is a terrible lie. Carmelo is actually fairly consistent as a scorer. Outside of the game where he was injured last season, his lowest point total was 14 points in the past two seasons. He's only scored less than 16 points 7 times, one was an ejection against LAC, and two were due to injury, so it's actually only 4 games.
