With a 5-5 record, the Nets have to be considered disappointing. They have had injuries to Richard Jefferson [five games], Cliff Robinson [one and counting plus two suspended], and newcomers Josh Boone and Eddie House [ten and counting]. But no one is using that excuse...yet. What is worrisome is a lack of defensive intensity and an un-Net-like inability to hang on to a lead.</div> Source
The Nets should take a long look at themselves right now. The 5-5 record is no joke. The Nets could have easily been at least 7-3 or 8-2. Those 2 losses to Seattle was ridiculous. New Jersey could have at least won against Miami. I'm sorry guys, but i'm beginning to question coach Frank. The last game against the Sonics was really frustrating. The Nets collapsed in the 4th! New Jersey had 17 points of 4-14 shooting. Jason Kidd had 3 good quarters with 6 pts., 7 reb., 8 asts., 1 stl., and the Nets led 70-66. In the 4th quarter? Kidd had 2 rebounds and 1 shot attempt. The offense came through nowhere near Kidd. Does coach Frank expect Carter to be a 1 man show? It's like letting Kidd work hard the first 3 quarters and let Carter finish the job. Carter can't do it alone. The Nets win because of Carter, Kidd and Jefferson. Not Vince alone, not Jason alone and not Jefferson alone. When the offense runs through Kidd, the Nets has more success. Is it still a mytery?! Why not just let Kidd sit on the bench instead of him being out on the court and not being involved in the play. Sorry for being this way, but we're kicking ourselves in the butt.
