Has anyone heard Snoop Doggs new album 'Tha Blue Carpet Treatment'? I just got it, and I gotta say, I'm really liking this, one of the best albums I've heard from anyone in a long time. Snoop isnt at a "Doggystyle" level, but his lyrical work on this album has impressed me, much better than I expected to hear from him. The production is dope as f***, some nice Westcoast sounds blended with a bit of a new age East Coast vibe to it, definatley a "bump this in your system" album. The guest appearances (and there are alot of them) are top notch aswell, with guys like R. Kelly, B Real, Akon, Ice Cube, Damian Marley, The Game, E-40, MC Eiht even Stevie Wonder, and of course you have the regulars such as Kurupt, Dat ***** Daz etc. This is what I would call a surprise album, you dont go into it with high expectations, but you're pleasentley surprised with the outcome, well I was at least.

This is far from a classic, and doesnt come close to matching the level of 'Doggystyle', but its a decent album, I enjoyed it, as I said, its one of the best albums i've heard from anyone in recent years.

Seems like a nice album. I might get it, but no Dr. Dre?

lol, Doggystyle really wasn't anything to brag about lyrically. But yea, I've downloaded 5 or 6 of the tracks and I liked what I heard. It's better than anything else thats come out recently and I'm glad Snoop took a step back from all the pop crap he was doing the last few years.

Say what you want, Pharell is a nice produce, he only makes beats he doesn't write rhymes. If anything was pop its all Snoop.

Yeah, Dr. Dre is on the song 'Imagine' which also features D'Angelo.

Doggystyle wasnt a lyrical master piece by any means, but his vocal work on that album was above average, and I feel that this is his only other album (Maybe the Doggfather also) to come close to it.

It's just a play on 'Red Carpet Treatment', since Snoop claims he is a crip, and their colour is blue, and the rival Blood gang wears red, so yeah, I'm guessing thats it.

He isn't claiming snoop really is a crip. And i heard it's better than jay's and game album. Doggystyle to me was pretty lyrical.

Snoop always makes references to crips.
