Last night Kobe Bryant was brilliant on the basketball court. He scored 20 points in the 1st quarter and willed the Lakers to a victory last night in an ugly game against a tough team. The Lakers almost blew this game starting off the 4th quarter 0-11 from the field. Kobe Bryant watched from the bench and then came back into the game around the 6:30 mark to take over and seal the victory last night. This is the Kobe Bryant a lot of us have been waiting to see, the offensive juggernut, making shots only Kobe can make. There were 4 or 5 shots Kobe made last night, no one else in the league could make. The only other player who could probably pull those off is Michael Jordan. Kobe was very efficient on offense and despite all the touches he ended up with, he only committed 1 turnover. In a night when the Lakers had difficulty scoring, Kobe Bryant delivered a sensational performance.
Kobe is definitely getting closer to being 100%. His explosiveness to the basket is coming back and for the first time this season he started to take it to the basket every other time. If the Lakers continue playing this way ...by the end of the season .. Kobe for MVP Luke for Most Improved Player Kwame for Sixth Man of the Year Phil for coach of the year. THis Friday will be a true test playing the Jazz on the road.
Good to know. I wondered how he was shaping up in the game. I saw the stat line but still wasn't convinced he was back to his best. I did catch a glimpse of him on Sportscenter and he was looking fluid. Also I noticed the cuts are coming back as he is getting back into shape.
Guys, I'm getting sick of hearing Kobe for MVP and all that crap. The season is still young, he could go down with a torn ACL next game. It is also why we receive so much hate in this forum. With that said, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers have looked phenominal (can someone tell me if I spelled this right?) so far. I will agree that if the Lakers keep up this play and Kobe keeps this up all season, then yes I expect an MVP award. This team was severly underrated coming into the season. I do believe that we have an outside shot at winning it all this year. If not that, we'll definately be playing basketball beyond the first round of the playoffs.
I think, the lakers accepted the challenge last night, but that is good only for now.i think time is gonna tell the truth about this team and the recovery of kobe and others whit injuries.im proud of this team ,because everybody dismiss this team, and even whit bad games and injuries this team has responded very very well.and for kobe he has demostrated the leader that he is.the last night game against the clippers maybe not was only one game, maybe was the game that can change the entire laker season.
Man, that was a great performace by Kobe. A good shooting percentage too & Lakers won <div class="quote_poster">Laker_fan Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">When he scored 20 in the first quarter, I bet the Clippers thought "oh know, not again." </div> Laker_fan, its "oh NO, not again" Big difference between know and no. Sorry to point it out, just bothered me.
The Lakers looked sluggish staring out the 4th quarter but after the defensive play by Kwame Brown sparked their little offensive run. I think Kobe is showing he can be a leader in different ways and he showed he could lead by example in the Clippers game. I hope he doesn't force his way back into being 100% because he felled down pretty hard in the clipper game and if that happens there goes our laker season. Lakers are in for a big challenge this friday and it will show good they are capable of becoming as a team. Lakers will become dangerous when Radmonavich starts nailing those jumpers. Thats what I think this team is lacking is consistent shooters.
LA is still Lakers town 8-3 baby trying to make it 9-3 REALLy gonna be a hard win vs the jazz dont think lakers can pull it through yet they have no one to guard kobe and lamar cuz ak47 is out

Frankly, I dont see anything wrong with getting excited about our players and our team early. It's better to be optimistic then pessimistic, and the fact that we're even talking about Kobe being a legit MVP candidate again this early on means we're having a nice season thus far and there is indeed reason for us to be excited.. yes its early, but lets celebrate a great early start ...stop being such a party pooper my man ...
