Is it just me, or do the Jazz look like the Suns?? I mean the suns players were double double machines in amare, diaw, marion and nash Just like the Jazz in boozer, deron, okur, ak Although the Suns use running and gunning 3's to beat their opponents The Jazz use Offensive rebounds to get the job done Both have unique styles of play that have worked for them
They aren't really comparable bad comparison really Suns were a team who played a fast past game and depended on playing small ball to win plenty and games to get up and down the floor. They had basically SF/PF's playing center alot of the time. While playing two small point guards alot of the time in the line-up. Suns also were a poor rebounding team who really got hardly any points in the paint and didn't have much size. hey used their quickness to outscore people. The Jazz meanwhile have a deeper team Are GREAT on the boards, always crashing the offensive boards They actually are a good enough defensive team and get stops when it counts. Which is why they have comeback to win games when they were down big. Only thing you could compare between the two is at the point guard position. you could compare them to the Sonics from a few years ago who also rebounded the ball very well. Obviously Utah are better than defensively but the situation is the same. As many didn't expect the Jazz to be so good. The Jazz sitution is alot like the Suns of 03/04 in terms of sneaking up on people. Nothing really too comparable though.
Compare them to the old Jazz teams from the 90s. Great offense. Great rebounding. Tough, physical defense. Great PG play, and great PF play.

The only reason they have never done good is because of health and depth. Utah has done awesome when they were healthy, and this year they have more depth. When you aren't forced to start Jarron Collins and play Keith McLeod/Milt Palacio both NBDL type talent, your a better team. They just have added more talent over the offseason, instead of having McLeod, Milt, and Devin Brown coming off the bench, Utah has Brewer, Fisher, and Millsap coming off the bench, much better players. C.J. Miles has also improved quite a bit from last year, so did Deron Williams. The only thing I see that Utah might be lacking is consistent 3 point shooting. The only guys I really trust shooting 3's is Deron Williams and Giricek when healthy.

I think the Jazz are the real deal, you can mark me down as saying they'll have a 60 win season, 60-22 to be exact.

They've played awesome, against whoever they've played, I just hope Sloan can keep them focused.
If they can get 60 wins, they have to be considered a dark horse title threat. Despite lack of playoff experience, their gritty play and swarming defense have to be considered a positive for the playoffs, and they have fast players who can break down defenses and slower teams. If they keep this up they can play with Dallas and San Antonio. And if the title doesn't come out of the West I'll be surprised.
The Jazz are a high scoring team this season, but they play differently to the Suns of last season. They don't run the way the Suns did, and rely more on trying to execute an offense. Deron Williams is running Utah's offense exceptionally well, he's currently second in the NBA at assists per game with 9.3. The Jazz grab a heap of offensive rebounds, and do very well on their own defensive rebounds. When healthy, Kirilenko is a big defensive presence. They don't really have that one scorer who can take over, but instead have a lot of scoring options in the team through Boozer, Okur, Williams, Kirilenko, Harpring, Giricek and Fisher. Rookies Ronnie Brewer and Paul Millsap can also have their nights.
They need their all their starters (except maybe SG) to be healthy once playoffs come around to be a title contender in my opinion.
Just wait it out. If Boozer can hold up, along with Giricek and Harpring then they will be 2nd rounders for sure. I want to know if they can handle SA/PHO/DAL in the playoffs. Damn, how one offseason can change so much.
