Looking at the play by play at the 4:33 mark, it says TJ Ford layup miss even though he made it, and before that after Joe Johnson made the 2nd FT it says 86-78, however after that miss TJ Ford layup, Toronto some how has 80 points points when Tyronne Lue made his shot at the 4:25 mark, the score says 88-80. Then After Lue made the shot, Bosh was fouled on the offensive end which gave the Raps 82 points.

However it was tied 95-95 at the :27 mark and TJ Ford fouled Joe Johnson for some reason? Maybe he though the Raps were down with the score being messed up. If so Toronto should appeal this to the Commish.

And why in the world would Bargnani take the last shot when the game was at 97-95 for Atlanta?? Pretty messed up i should say.

Yea, but it sure doesnt seem right to award atlanta with a win. They only got the win because we fouled them when we didnt need to. When TJ hit that 3, the game should have been tied...but instead we fouled them to send them to the line...if the game was tied, they would have had to go down the court and scored...maybe they would have missed? maybe they would have turned the ball over and we would have scored...who knows? there are a million possible outcomes...but we'll never know what SHOULD have happend because we got totally robbed.

how did raptors assistant coaching staff miss this?

"At that point, all I could do was get in the car and keep myself from driving myself off the road at 500 kilometres an hour," said Mitchell.</div>

an atl. journalist caught this and informed the scorekeeper but he or she , claimed all was well. and paul jones caught this as well but he was 20 rows up and couldn't inform the raptors. and my boy triano was suspicious of the score but the trainer reassured him all was well.

edit: colangelo isn't as bright as i thought he was, he was watching the game like we all were but he didn't know until saturday morning when raptor nation was already abuzz

That's because it's embarrassing for all parties involved. The Raptors really should've picked this up when it happened and it makes their coaching staff look like a bunch of clueless idiots. Atlanta's organization obviously look either unprofessional or like cheaters. And it makes the NBA look like an amateur league.

I'm more surprised the media hasn't made this into a big issue. I can see why Swirsky and Rautins haven't, since they were too busy discussing his stupid green tie to pay attention to the game. But, by in large, columnists and reporters have only made a few references to it. If it weren't for youtube and message boards, I doubt anyone would even know about this.

My bad. I only got a glance at the sports section on the day after. And there wasn't anything on it in Metro (which lifts out the important paragraphs from the Star). Must've missed it.

I still think the "green tie" conversation is embarrassing, though.

chuck mentioned it in his raptor blog too:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">E-mailer Norm from Burlington offers his two cents on the crazy score/no score Raps bucket from Friday night.

RULE 2 Section 6 D. Errors which occur in the 4th period must be discovered and rectified prior to the end of the period.

A record-keeping error by the official scorer which involves the score, may be corrected by the officials at any time prior to the end of the 4th period.

HOWEVER, Chuck the Raptors coaching staff failed to ask the referees to correct the error.

Summary: 1. Referees should have caught the error.
    2. Official scorer should have caught the error.
    3. Raptor coaches should have caught the error.

Thanks, Norm. My opinion... the Hawks should be fined. The game is over. Atlanta won, but the league should come down hard on the official scorer The other point is, if someone /anyone realized something was not right - even a hint of impropriety than at least approach the scorer's table or PR person. The first I heard of a scoring problem was from you, our great Raptors' fans. Sure enough, you were right. Thank you. I forwarded your e-mails to director Jim Labumbard of the Raptors media relations department. He appreciates your feedback.
    </div>

so to sum it up...i was right. nothing will come of this [IMG]

as for Chuck and Leo's stupid conversation lol...well, lets jsut say thats one of the reasons i prefer jack and chuck

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Raptor travelling road show took off from Pearson yesterday afternoon with the regular numbers and a new responsibility.

After the fiasco in Atlanta on Friday, when Hawks officials missed a key Raptor basket — an oversight that never registered with the Toronto bench — the team has now decided one of its approximately 40-member travelling group will be solely responsible for making sure all of the team's points are counted.

Keith D'Amelio, the team's assistant trainer and strength and conditioning coach, is now in charge of scoreboard watching.

With other members of the staff otherwise engaged, D'Amelio was given the new task starting tonight in Oklahoma City.NBA officials were still reviewing the gaffe in Atlanta yesterday and had no comment.

On the play with about 4 1/2 minutes remaining, every member of the Atlanta scoring crew missed a basket by Toronto's T.J. Ford that would have had a huge impact on the game had it counted.

Instead of being down two with 27 seconds left and forced to foul, Toronto would have been tied and had a shot to win on a final possession.

The mistake helped extend Toronto's road losing streak to 14 games. They haven't won on the road since last March 21 in New York and face away games in five of their next six outings.

After games tonight in Oklahoma City and Wednesday in Dallas, they play at home to Boston on Friday before hitting the road for games in New York, Cleveland and Chicago.

"(It's) closing out games," said coach Sam Mitchell, whose team is 0-7 on the road this season.

"Even on that last road trip, we played well against Utah, we played well against the Lakers, in Golden State we played well.

"Atlanta? We played well enough to win the game. We just have to finish the game and play for 48 minutes."</div>

God .. that stupid quote at the end from Mitchell says it all for me. We consistantly have to hear crap about: "we only played 3 quarters etc.." and "we played well enough to win". Give me a break!
