<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Sonics fans will remember Ronny Turiaf's ferocious start to his second NBA season. The former Gonzaga standout was a menace for Seattle forward Chris Wilcox as Turiaf ripped a rebound from his hands and blocked Wilcox's dunk in the waning minutes of the Los Angeles Lakers' 118-112 win on Nov. 3. Turiaf further irked Wilcox by thumping his chest joyfully and flashing signs that, although Wilcox didn't know the meaning, he didn't appreciate. The Lakers reserve seemed to be healthy enough to make a strong impact, averaging 8.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in his opening six games. But an old problem has slowed the France native this past week. Recovered from heart surgery, Turiaf has waffled from the inactive list to simply not playing because of bursitis in his hips. Turiaf has played a total of three minutes in Los Angeles' current four-game winning streak. Turiaf had a similar problem while playing in college, too. He is listed as day to day. With the return of teammate Kwame Brown and former Sonics forward Vladimir Radmanovic on the bench, the Lakers still have depth. But Turiaf's fire and shot-blocking are hard to replace. </div> Link
I hope the injuries dont presist throughout the season I just hope theyre rust and dust associated at the beginning of the season do you guys think there will be a trade before the trading deadline? I heard Pau Gasol is available i hope the lakers go after him either Kwame or Lamar for Pau and throw in Vlade.
Turiaf played last night in limited minutes. <div class="quote_poster">bruin007 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> I heard Pau Gasol is available i hope the lakers go after him either Kwame or Lamar for Pau and throw in Vlade.</div> I hope you were just being sarcastic, but anyways, Pau Gasol is out for the season. He won't be playing until next year, and when he returns, it isn't guarenteed that he will be 100%. If we can trade Lamar for Gasol, why not trade him in a package for Kevin Garnett? Anyways, from what I have heard, the Celtics are really interested in bringing Gasol into their organization. With all the young pieces and trade assests they possess, there is no way we can out bid them. (god forbid I hope we do not out bid them)
