I don't really get why they have to play the national anthem anyway. i mean who cares. just play the game. save the national anthem for the white house. when you go to say, a rock concert do they play the national anthem beforehand? If you go to a movie, do they play it? In what other entertainment do they play it?

Just sayin'

I wonder if he notices more and more of his players arn't americans and don't give a crap about the american national anthem

I don't think Stern can do it, but I'm sure indiviual teams have crazy ruels like that. The Bulls' players aren't aren't allowed to wear headbands.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Karma:</div><div class="quote_post">"When we had our last round of negotiations, David told me that he was consulting with one of President Bush's political consultants. These government consultants are under the impression they know what's best for you.
Even though this rule revolves around the anthem, I still think he`s pushing it. It`s just chewing gum. Players still stand with their hand over their hearts and follow the anthem`s way like all Americans in this country. Like I said, its just chewing gum.
I agree that chewing gums should not be allowed during the national anthem, that's a good move and I agree with it. Although I think the "not allowed to shift your weight from one leg to the other" rule is already stupid, because many just do it to stay alert and warmed-up, to prepare themselves for the physical job and so on. And as long as nobody is jumping around or moving excessively, it is no disrespect to the anthem IMO. Ridiculous rules that players are not allowed to wear bands with their names on it or to pull out the jerseys off their pants when leaving the game.
No matter how many beans that you ate during the day, There will be absolutly no farting. If farting occurs during the anthem you will be assigned to be David sterns footstool.
