Funny thing is Warriors win against teams you think they would lose to and lose games to teams they should be beating.

The teams they've lost to are New Orleans/KC, Nuggets twice, Suns, Utah, and the Lakers. No shame in that, those are all good teams with winning records, and three of those losses were close. What I worry about (besides lingering injuries) is what happens when they go out on the road. Will they revert to their old bad habits? Will the youngsters be mentally tough enough to handle the tougher atmosphere on the road? Can they hit their freethrows (IMO, more necessary to success on the road)? Well, we'll find out soon enough.

December will be a good month to see whether this team is legit or not. In one hand, we only played twice against Eastern conference teams, and we are 7-6 against Western teams. However, we had 11 home games (two more coming) and 4 road games, so our record might have inflated. In December, we will have 6 home games and 10 road games including 6 straight road games. Fortunately, 5 of those 6 games are from Eastern conferece, but if we do not capitalize those games, we may really hurt our record.

Even last year, we started 13-6, then bottom fell off. Unlike last year, I definitely see something going on, and I seriously doubt that Nelson will let this team collapse completely. But, until we officially clinch the PO spot...

This is a completely different mindset. The Warriors are winning because of Biedrins, Ellis, Barnes, Dunleavy with contributions from Baron, Jrich, MP.

They were winning last year because for some freak reason they were playing great D.

This year, they are scoring and throwing in some D.

And of course there is the Nellie factor. His act may get old, but that will not happen until at least two years from now.

He will have the Warriors ready for the road.

Nelson will possibly only get old on us because we know if we get better as a team and bigger inside, the less of the no-defense, run n' gun smallish teams we have to do. I think everyone knows it. It's why bottom dwelling Phoenix chose to play the way they did without a center. Most sports analysts thought they were crazy because Amare might be too small to play center and Marion too small for power forward at a lean 230 and 6'8-6'9 measure. If a team doesn't have anyone big inside like a real center or a real power forward, they could get creamed big time. With the emergence of Biedrins in these 10 or 11 games, I feel confident we got the inside portion secured even without Diogu or POB being close to ready. I hope Biedrins stays healthy, because he is our anchor in the paint and that's good enough to put us over the hump in some games. If he can deliver tenacious defense, especially at the rim, rebound offensively like an Erick Dampier, and score high%, we don't seem so small anymore.

And thank goodness beans ain't like Murphy inside defensively or Foyle on the catch and layup or he could not pull off the center position either. Beans emulates a center (i.e. last line of defense, the biggest presence on the floor who is no stiff).

Now hopefully in the future we can do what run tmc couldn't because they had no big man to matchup with other teams. We need that DPOY type guy inside or first team defense/first all-nba team at center or power forward if we truly want to go far in the playoffs. That and a backcourt that shoot, create, and pass.

With Andris getting all these games with 5, 6, or 7 blocks I think the big question is this: When will he get his first triple-double?

If he can pass it well, quadruple double! [IMG] This is the happiest moment this season. A possible legit starting big man, who is good at both ends of the floor, type discovery!

Andris is going to make basketball fun for players on the perimeter. Either Andris cools down or he continues to dominate and soon there will be less attention on players like Jason Richardson, Baron Davis, Mickael Pietrus and Monta Ellis. When Ike comes back this offense will be tough. If the Warriors can continue to shoot well from the outside they will be tough with how Andris is playing inside, with how Ike can produce in the paint, and with Baron and Monta attacking the rim off the dribble.

Defensively this team is getting a whole bunch of steals and blocks. Offensively there are many players getting 4+ assists in games including players like Troy Murphy who was considered a black hole by some fans and Jason Richardson.

Don't forget the importance of second chance points [IMG] we're actually getting offensive rebounds and tip ins from Beans, Pietrus, Jrich, and Barnes. Ike could also be valuable for offensive rebounding.
