Bob Hill has used the bench production as a scapegoat for why are team has been struggling. Earl Watson is requesting a trade because of his reduced role on the team. Team first guys like Damien Wilkins are publicly criticizing Bob's coaching methods. Things are getting ugly quick in Seattle and I doubt that they are going to be resolved any time soon. Here is what Earl said to the PI: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Watson, who has had his share of run-ins with Hill this season, promised to improve his approach. "My mental has been polluted, and it's been like that for a while, and I don't think it's a secret," he said. "It's affecting the way I play, and I have to get beyond that. He's my coach, I've got to ride with him. If we go down, we go down together. I have his back. If I didn't have his back, I wouldn't have played the way I played finishing the year to make sure he had another contract."</div> Link His play has obviously suffered since he has been called out by Hill. Personally I think that we should get rid of Hill but considering the fact that ownership is probably pleased that we are currently struggling (so they can leave the area w/o opposition) I would think that Earl would be on the block. I am a fan of Earl Watson and I think that he should man up and just play better in the limited time that he is playing. I miss the days where players whose playing time was inconsistent would just shut up and let their play in limited minutes do the talking. Dudes aren't that mentally tough anymore. But in the event that Earl ends up going in the tank I think we should field offers for him if we can get a serviceable player and a draft pick (preferably first round). Thoughts?
You know I'm down with Mike Wilks so a trade is fine with me. Cleveland could use him but they don't have anybody to trade and I doubt they'd give up a first rounder.
From the way Damien was talking to the press after the Spurs game, it seems that no one really likes Bob Hill (which is pretty obvious). I mean...seriously, what a jackass. Hill talks as if he's won 6 championships. I like Watson too and I agree that he needs to just suck it up and play, but it's hard to do that when you have Bob Hill as a coach. If we can get some sort of an impact player for Watson, then I'd say we should trade him because I like Mike Wilks as well. But getting a draft pick, who knows who we'll draft. They might find some 7'6" guy out of Fiji.
