<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Los Angeles Lakers haven't lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in more than five years. With both teams' recent play, that run doesn't appear in jeopardy. The Lakers look to extend their winning streak to 11 games over the Bucks when they meet at Staples Center on Tuesday. Los Angeles' 10 consecutive wins versus Milwaukee is its longest active win streak against any opponent. The Lakers (9-4) have taken 19 of the last 21 meetings between the teams -- surpassing 100 points in all but four of those matchups. Los Angeles is 13-1 in its last 14 home games against Milwaukee, and they've been tough to beat there this season. The Lakers are 8-1 at Staples Center and looking to win their sixth straight there, equaling their longest home win streak in 2005-06, which was set twice. The Lakers kicked off a stretch of eight in a row at Staples Center, including one against the Clippers in which they're the road team, with a 99-93 win over the New Jersey Nets on Sunday. Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant combined to shoot just 14 for 40 from the field, but still led the Lakers with 21 and 19 points, respectively. Fellow starters Smush Parker had 13 and Luke Walton finished with 10. Kwame Brown had 13 points and rookie Jordan Farmar also had 11 off the bench. "When Smush was in there, he gave us a great boost," said Bryant, who added a season-high 10 assists. "And then the young fella (Farmar) came in and played extremely well, and Kwame (Brown) did, too. They're ready, they're stepping up and hitting shots." Bryant hit plenty of shots against the Bucks last season averaging 38.0 points in two meetings, including 19-of-19 from the free-throw line. He scored 43 points in the last matchup, a 101-96 Lakers win at home on March 24. The Bucks (4-9) may have trouble slowing Bryant as they're allowing an Eastern Conference-worst 102.6 points per game. Milwaukee held a 14-point halftime lead Saturday, but suffered another second-half collapse en route to a 111-98 loss to Boston. "At some point, we've got to learn how to play consistently, rather than playing hard when we're down 20 or playing hard to (catch) up," said Bucks coach Terry Stotts, whose team also blew second-half leads in two losses to Indiana last week. "It's a matter of playing with the same energy, the same emotion, the same execution." Michael Redd scored 24 points in the loss to the Celtics while Andrew Bogut added 18 points and eight rebounds for the Bucks, who again failed to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Redd is averaging a team-leading 29.2 points this season, but just 15.4 points in 10 career games against the Lakers, his lowest average against any opponent. Point guard Mo Williams scored nine points Saturday after missing a game with an elbow contusion, but the Bucks remain without Bobby Simmons (heel) and Charlie Villanueva (elbow). Lakers' reserve forward Brian Cook is doubtful with an upper respiratory tract infection. After this contest, Milwaukee continues a tough four-game road trip against Phoenix, Golden State and Utah. </div> Link I didn't see a gamethread...........Anyways, this should be an easy win for us. The Bucks have really been struggling, and with Charlie Villanueva and Bobby Simmons out, we should definetly take this one. The one guy we must focus on is Micheal Redd. We can not afford to let him get hot, or he will scortch us all game long. I predict a win tonight, but the Lakers better not under-estimate this team
What channel is the game on? The normal station is playing music videos. WTF? Edit: Now it's Cartoon Network. Bizarre.
OMG, horrible game. They made a good comeback with Farmar and Sasha on the floor and then fell flat. I missed the first half, but from the stats it looked like Smush was doing great, how come Farmar took over? Also, bad shot selection by Kobe towards the end, he has to give up the rock and trust his teammates.
Ball hog Kobe back in the house. What the fcuk was that crap tonight?? They shoot a FRANCHISE RECORD of 37 3 pointers, THIRTY SEVEN, disgusting. Kobe with his half court 3 pointers, trying to be hero. Then throwing a little fit whenever he doesn't get his way. These past two games he has really been ball hogging and I don't like it. I'm going to the Utah game on Thursday, I HOPE Lakers and Kobe don't let me down and we get this W.
And what the heck is with Kobe not getting any fouls called anymore? Did Stern send out a memo to the refs like he did last year? And who saw the Post game with Jack Haley and Paul Westphal.........that was getting heated.....
We **** poorly from the field... i mean 37 3's??? and only making11? LOL we lead the bucks in rebs 43 - 35, assists 29-25, 3's made 11-7, Ft's made 18-16, Blocks 9-3... We generally played better but the lakers made bad shot choices... LOL at kobe making 14 3pt FG attempts and only making 6
I cannot believe that we just won there. Where did that come from? All season we've gotten killed on the perimeter, I figured Odom, Bryant, Walton and the rest would just bomb away from three. They tried, but the shots just weren't falling. Like you Laker guys said, LA probably should've won this won. We were quite lucky, IMO, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just a bad shooting night; the Bucks wouldn't to win more than 1 or 2 out of 10 against you guys
i'm glad we lost cuz the guys didnt even try to take it to the paint. bynum and brown got almost no touches at all phil better change things for the utah game cuz he sucked last night

LAZY! What pisses me off is PJax drilled the team the last two days to get more touches in the paint to Bynum. The Lakers coaching staff felt Bynum could have a big game against the Bucks, because Milwaukee doesn't have anybody with the girth to defend him. Obviously no one listened because Bynum only had a single FGA last night. I don't understand why the Lakers can't break down a zone defense anymore? Everyone is so content on chucking up 3's, instead of working hard on offense and attacking the rim. No one is making the extra pass, slashing, or reposting. Our offense has become stand around on the perimeter and launch 3's. Kobe is the main culprit last night in the 3ball love affair. He was launching from the hash mark just behind the halfcourt line when the game was still in reach. PJax needs to bench his ass when he gets careless with the ball. The Lakers just don't prepare mentally against the teams they perceive as weaker. I'm sure they felt the Bucks would be a cake walk and just breeze through this game without putting out much effort. Once Michael Redd got hot, it gave the Bucks confidence and they out hustled the Lakers for the victory. Also the type of turnovers we were giving up last night were mindboggling. Sasha threw one pass into the 8th row last night, with no one around him. The Pacific Division is far too, talented and stacked to drop these type of games. The Lakers need to clean up their game and get back on a nice win streak.

He is our leader, and he needs to take charge and make the right decisions at the right time. We came out of a timeout, with a play made for us, and Kobe shoots a half court 3 pter? No way, that can't happen anymore, it's not like we had no timeouts and the Lakers didn't have a play written up so Kobe settled for the 3 on a fastbreak or a steal or something. Seems like Kobe was trying to be Hero last night and it backfired. Not to mention him giving up 45 pts to Michael Redd, wow. You guys should have seen post game interview with Kobe, NEVER seen him so heated. I don't care how many three's Kobe made (6/14) or how he got his back in the game. Down 3, with 18 secs to go, as a Leader and as the best player in the league, you don't shoot a 3 pter like that. I hope Kobe takes a look at this game and stops trying to do everything himself and next time make better judgement. With that said, You still my main man, Kobez!
It's frustrating to watch, because the Lakers have the ultimate zone buster in Andrew Bynum. The Bucks run a soft zone defense, and Bynum should have been the focal point to breakdown the zone. Just dump the ball into him and force Milwaukee to start double teaming or fouling. No one on Milwaukee can handle Bynum in the post, and having Bynum active on offense, would create a lot of second chance opportunities if he missed. A weak component of zone defense is not accounting for players on rebounds. It's very easy to slip by a defender in the zone and out position him for a rebound. Lakers didn't do this at all last night and continued to settle for low percentage perimeter shots.
Kobe's Audible Fails <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">So the Lakers lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, one of the lightweight Eastern Conference's bottom-feeders, 109-105, at Staples Center after seemingly gaining control of the game going into the fourth quarter. The Lakers had scrambled back and had a shot to tie with a three-pointer with 16.3 seconds left. Jackson called a play for Bryant to pass for Odom to attempt the big shot, but Bryant didn't pass it to Odom. Self-proclaimed "Kobe-stopper" Ruben Patterson did well to deny Bryant's penetration, and Bryant backed out and missed a long three-pointer with six seconds to play. "He took the shot," Odom said. "He felt like he was open. You make some; you miss some." Said Jackson: "I wanted Kobe to go directly back to Lamar on that play. That was to inbounds to Kobe and let Lamar walk into his shot, because I figured he was the guy who wouldn't be played and he (Bryant) checked off. Kobe took the challenge and tried to make the shot." </div> Link Apparently Kobe was supposed to give the ball off to Odom to shoot the three at the end of the game, instead Kobe shot it himself, which resulted in a miss
I don't mind Kobe shooting the 3 pointer, after all he is the most clutch player in the nba, however, I do mind him shooting it from half court with someone guarding him. Pisses me off just thinking about it again.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Did you see that? Smush Parker got off to a torrid start, hitting 5 of 6 shots from the field, but he fell out of sync thereafter. And when Phil Jackson chose to pull Parker early in the third quarter for Jordan Farmar, Parker reacted harshly, yelling, "Oh, man!" At the ensuing timeout, Parker sat at the end of the bench, away from the team’s huddle.</div> Smush is a cancer the Lakers need to get rid of. I was wondering why he was benched so long in the game, and I can see PJax taking away his starting job after another outburst.
The Lakers should have let Kobe take all 37 3s, he probably would have beat his old record of made 3s. (12 I think)
^That comment pisses me off. The Lakers should not take even take 37 f-in threes to begin with. Not 27. Not 17.
