<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dumpy breaks down the numbers, and determines that, despite reports to the contrary, the team defense hasn't been all that bad during the losing streak (although clearly not up to usual team standards). Instead, he places blame squarely on the offense, notably the excessive turnovers and shooting percentage. One player who exemplifies these recent problems is Vince Carter.</div>

Jason Kidd really is the key. In my previous post, I had Kidd averaging 17 PPG. in their 5 wins. In their last 6 losses, Kidd averaged 7.6 PPG. 7.8 RPG. 9.6 APG. 1.0 SPG. In their win against Boston, Jason Kidd was all over the court with 19 PTS., 8 REB., 9 ASST. and 3 STL., just missing another triple double performance. Carter will continue to lead the Nets in scoring and the bench has to be a factor. Williams, Nachbar, Adams and Wright must be consistent night in and night out. Krstic has to take less perimeter shots and more inside shots. Jefferson has been consistent when healthy. But everything comes together with Kidd.

I have to agree with ice the stats dont really show what he brings, other than assists. Kidd is always there when they need him like last nights game, they were down huge he put them on his back at the end of the third quarter, and the rest of the team followed. The team feeds off Kidd, the nets probably wouldnt have won if he didnt come through at the end of the third.

VC hasn't been shooting the ball as good and his point totals are decreasing. RJ has been struggling with the same areas as Vince, and JKidd has not shot well. The big 3 needs to step up along with Krstic because the supporting cast is getting the job done, but the stars are not.

I wouldn't have expected the supporting cast of the Nets to be producing while the stars struggle. If the starters start doing well, and the bench continues to bring strong contributions then the Nets will come around.
