<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PHILADELPHIA -- Allen Iverson didn't show up for a team function on Wednesday night, and his coach says he's going to pay for it.

The Philadelphia 76ers guard did not attend a "meet and greet" event with sponsors and premium seat-holders at a Philadelphia bowling alley, and coach Maurice Cheeks told the Philadelphia Daily News that Iverson "will be fined accordingly."

"We would have liked him to be there, but he wasn't, and that was his choice,'' Cheeks told the newspaper. "I can't speculate on why he wasn't there, but he wasn't there.''

A source told the Daily News that Iverson was upset when he left Sixers practice on Wednesday morning. Cheeks said Iverson left early because he was "fatigued" and, when asked if Iverson was upset, replied "Whatever happened between him and me, I'd like to keep that private."</div><a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2680905" target="_blank">

LOL! Who cares its just bowling. spend that time working on plays instead of improving your bowling score.

I'm sure they'll have more events like this, but AI should always be commited to his tasks.

Wasn't it a bowling alley that AI got in trouble in when he was younger? I don't blame him... (I could be wrong heard this on ATH)

AI said the medication from his tooth surgery put him to sleep, and it could have been strong medicine since he had teeth pulled.

This reminds me of the whole "ITS JUST PRACTICE" time of AI's life with coach "Brown". He thinks he is above everything...but really, its just freeking bowling.

Allen Iverson goes out every night and gets the daylights beat out of him for other people's amusement as the lone ray of hope on a traditionally maligned basketball team. Let him skip the bowling event and the chit chat with the rich folks.

You have a point. But you also have to take into account that a lot of these rich folks are only buying their season tickets for AI. They want to see AI. And who wouldn't? So the star player not showing up, and interacting with the "rich" fans, doesn't really portray a good image.
