The Clippers forward has been on the trading block since last season, and the Heat has players that are in a similar salary range to Maggette, including James Posey and Antoine Walker. Maggette is under contract through next season with a player option for the 2008-09 season.</div>

I don't see why the Clippers are so intent on trading away Corey Magette. From what I have seen, the guy is a pretty good player, and has been great coming off the bench for them thus far. As for the Miami trade, I don't really see anyone from the Heat that could really help the Clippers. Walker has been horrible thus far, and to trade for him would not make sense. James Posey plays the same position as Magette, so it wouldn't make sense either, considering Magette has far more talent then both of them combined. The Clippers have really been shopping him around, so my question is, why not just keep him? The guy has been having a pretty good season. Or is there bad blood between him and Coach Dunleavy?

the only positive I see from this is that the clip joint would get someone who plays defense (in Posey), BUT Walker is a known loser who will take shots away from Brand....I don't see why the Clippers are interested in this.

Walker is a p*ssy. All he ever does is stand around the three point line and launch up shots. This year, none of his shots have fallen. The guy is soft and plays absolutely no defense what-so-ever, plus he has a big contract. If the Clippers want to trade for Walker because they hope he can "ressurect" his shot, it still wouldn't make sense because they already used their MLE this off-season on Tim Thomas, whos specialty is the three-pointer. Maybe the Clippers are looking at the youngsters in Dorrel Wright and Wayne Simeon?

Well Miami is the one initiating trade talks, so I wouldn't worry about the Clippers dealing CMaggs to them. Just last year the Clippers were close to trading CMaggs for Artest, and I don't think Maggette's trade value has dropped that far when you have Walker and Posey being mentioned.

Maggette has been a team player this season, agreeing to come off the bench and play the role Dunleavy wants from him. He does get into trouble with the coach, because Maggette doesn't always protect the ball, and he's not the defender he should be.

Worry? Why would I worry about the Clippers? lol. I was just baffled by the trade offers that were given for Maggette, since I am positive he is worth more than Walker and Posey

I bet the reason why he is always in the trade rumors is because obviously Maggette would love to start and should get more minutes to score and rebound, however, he hasn't gotten it when the Clips have Quinton Ross and Tim Thomas playing the same position as him.

So yeah Maggette would fit better somewhere else... but where and for who?

Well, after watching last night's Lakers and Clippers game, I can clearly tell you Maggette isn't the smartest player in the world. The Clippers had a good trade offer, Allen Iverson for Maggette and Livingston. I have no idea why they didn't except. Can you imagine the headlines in LA if that trade did go down? "Allen Iverson VS Kobe Bryant"

Yes, because the Clips want an old no defense backcourt of Iverson and Cassell. I know Iverson is still playing well, but don't be fooled, everyone ages, and he makes a ton of money, no thanks.

I think it was already mentioned, but the Clippers aren't actively looking to trade Maggette. The Miami offers are horrible, James Posey is only good because he's expiring, but the Clippers wouldn't even consider Walker. Tim Thomas is already jacking three's more efficiently for a lot less money.

Also Walker doesn't have a shot to ressurect, even at his best shooting off Wade drive's and open shots from Shaq, he still can't hit over 37% from downtown. The good shooters in those situations hit close to 40%. Walker has never been a "good" shooter anyways.

I thought Cassell was a free-agent? If the Clippers traded for AI, then that would mean Cassell wouldn't be back

Cassell was an FA this summer, he's signed till after 07/08. Iverson also makes $18 million this season, and $20 million in 07/08, I don't even know how a Maggette and Livingston for him trade works salary wise.

    Still not interested, no thanks...
