Fellas, what are some good laptops geared towards videos, photos, and music? I'm not looking for one of those macs, either.
agreed, i hate macs.......go with an hp....or a dell...........both of those laptops are pretty reliable.
HP sucks for laptops IMO. Go with a brand like Acer or Fujitsu; they might cost more than your Dell though... Macs are overrated.

Seriously, for your needs I'd consider a Mac. You may have to save up a bit more money but there's nothing better out there for music, photos, videos etc.

The Mac programs just dumb it down to make it "accessible". Also, I'm pretty sure that by "music", TBM wants to listen to music on his laptop. Just get one with Altec Lansing speakers.
I think Mac's are a rip off, I don't know much about them but things people have told me is that they're not that much better than Dells, Vio's and such.

My brother has one and shelled out something like $1600 for it. My friend has a Toshiba that's far better than it and paid like, $1300 for it. Both are expensive, but $300 is a lot of money.
I know many folks who have Dells and many have told me they suck. If you were to get a laptop based on your needs (and not a mac), I would get a Sony Vaio.
I've known at least 6 people who have had Vaio's, including my uncle who gets everything from Sony for 50% off, that has had nothing but problems from the Vaio.
