For some reason I don't see them trading down.. The Jets would be a reaslitic canidate but if they trade down their going to take D'Brickashaw Ferguson and I don't see a suitor in the top 5. The Jets have too many needs to trade up in my opinion. So by the Texans trading down before the draft starts they risk losing Ferguson. So they will lose Bush by trading down but the they could use the guy they want.
from the beginning, its looked obvious to me that a trade betwen the jets and texans would happen....I know the jets want Bush(or Leinart or Young) and I know the texans need Ferguson more than any other team does....
It's obvious that the Texans management has been reading NFL Forums and has read my various diatribes about how they should trade down and upgrade various positions (including the O-Line) rather than opting for someone purely to put asses in seats (Reggie Bush). Way to go Texans!
If there's a trade it won't happen until draft day. You'd have to get a lot in return for the #1 overall.
I can see it now. Houston trades the #1 pick to the Jets for the #4 pick, John Abraham, a 3rd this yr and a 2nd next. The Jets cut Pennington but the #10 doesn't lie dormant for long as Vince Young is taken #1. Texans take Ferguson. For the jets to get the #1 pick they would have to give up a lot. I heard that they might shop Johnahan Abraham and like a 2nd and 3rd for it. But i say if they are going to get a QB take Jay Cutler, who is the opposite of Pennington. Cutler has one of the strongest arms, and Pennigton doesnt.

What would you give up for Tomlinson? I'd give up two mid level 1st round picks & even that might not be enuff.

Now I doubt Bush falls out of the top 3 but if he does fall to #5 that would be great.

I've heard that Joseph Addai of LSU is blazing up the draft board. I think DeAngelo Williams might have the brightest future.

No way.</div> Its not that we value the pick that much, its that theres recent precident on the cost to move from #4 and #5 up to one and its expensive....if it wasnt, it would happen more often....if a team is in love with a player(like the Falcons with Vick and the Giants with Manning), they will pay the price....and recent history has show it work out for both teams(its some what interesting that the team in the recieving end was the Chargers both times, and most would agree that they are a team in the rise with tons of talent stockpiled)....

Something in sports has to go my way and Vince Young going to the Titans would make me smile for a long time, muahahaha. But seriously, cut that trading your pick crap out, you're worrying me... although it makes sense, don't do it.. lol.
The smartest thing for the Texans to do would be to trade down... but.... if they do and they pass on Reggie Bush will we be sitting here in ten to fifteen years going " What were the Texans doing?" are we gonna blame them for filling a need, much like Portland did when they drafted Bowie instead of Jordan?
