The Cavaliers have been closely watching Channing Frye this season, according to a source. Isiah Thomas, meanwhile, has always had interest in Drew Gooden of the Cavaliers.

When Frye returns from his ankle injury in a few weeks, his role could be greatly reduced. David Lee continues to perform well, the Knicks are Eddy Curry's team in Thomas' eyes and Jared Jeffries may be ready to return as well.

Why should we trade Frey for Gooden who has another monster contract. Oh I forgot thats Isiah's thing.

Yeah this trade doesn't make any sense for the Knicks. The only way Knicks should agree to this deal is if Cleveland also takes Jerome James.

I hope this doesn't happen it might be better for the future but in terms of now Gooden is more consistent, and Cleveland could probably get something better for the future as well.
