Seems we're all too embarassed to even post about the game. I take it we're all going to pretend todays game never happened...
Spurs are awesome... Warriors are not. This much I cannot pretend to ignore. On a separate note, has anyone else noticed these observations? -- 1.)Keith McCleod thinks he's Derek Fisher; Fisher thinks he's Michael Jordan; thus, by logical extension Keith McCleod thinks he's Jordan. And it's annoying. 2.)Murphy sucks as a big man, dude. 3.)Baron pulled up on his first opportunity with the ball... and bricked a lazy three. 4.)The Spurs are awesome. The Warriors are not.
Well, that was really something. I don't think the Spurs are as good or the Warriors as bad as either looked, though. I think this was just a perfect storm of bad luck for us.
Man I started watching at half and Bob Fitz was saying how good they were playing and i looked at the score and we were down by 14 with murphy playing center! No EFFING D when murphy is on the floor especially being the only big man on the floor! He doesn't even help out or contest the shot! Also anyone notice that when Pietrus has the ball he usually shoots the 3 or he travels? This guy is looking really sloppy as of late
<div class="quote_poster">custodianrules2 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Yup.... <sigh> Glad I didn't see it. Wow, they sure got revenge on us.</div> I didn't see either. Actually, you don't want to see this kind of game. Just think about watching and listening to Bob Fitzgerald and Jim Barnett for four quarters .
In terms of dropping blame...I'd say pretty much anyone but Roberson was just dazed. Baron drove well. Foyle at the end looked pretty good.

This is why nellie wanted him to only play defense and rebound, not try to create. He's awful with the ball in his hands. The only time he should be scoring is on the corner three (which is deadly!), the fast break, or the putback. No dribbling, please!! (same for you, Murph!)
So much for trade value on Pietrus. Looks like we had a window of a couple weeks there, that was it. He did have 3 blocks though.
Hey, I only got to hear bits and pieces of the game but I swear I heard Fitz saying something about it being a good sign that Diogu was "looking good" before the game and that it was a good sign. What was that, was he suited up? Did he practice/shoot around? He could be a boost they could use right now.
Well I watched the game. And yes, it was ugly. We fought back for a little bit and I was hoping we were going to make it a game, but we were just too mentally weak. Something better change quick because this season is going down the drain fast. Diogu needs to get back to 100% and be the starting PF. Murphy needs to just rebound and thats it. His role needs to be significantly reduced. I would rather have just about any PF in the league right now instead of him. When he is in the game it gets ugly. He allows way more points than he scores. Even the other night when he was hitting his shots, it was like I was watching Fisher all over again and cringing every time he jacked a 3.
One plus for you guys out of this game was Patrick O'Bryant, he had 5 Points, 4 Rebounds, 4 Assists in only 12 minutes of playing time, that extra work with the coach seems like it is paying off already.
S*it happens... i remeber the year after the shaq trade the Warriors stumped the lakers with a 40-pt lead
In itself, this game sucked but it's hard to say-yet what it means, aside from an L on the record. There is no rational explanation for this turnaround. Our starting 5 contributed a mere 30 pt to the total. Dismal. I guess the zone that worked well vs Utah-is not exactly a reliable tool yet. We may be a bit premature in thinking Ellis-Biedrens-Pietrus are on the verge of greatness. Maybe the whole team snuck out of the hotel to some cheesy honky-tonk and spent the whole night on tequila drinks and lap dancers. ....well,Adonal sure looks more agile, how much weight has he shed-and with a 90% FG,is he gonna be the go-to guy now? Murphy? Had some games where he's shooting like Reggie Miller or passing like Brad Miller. Had games where he's above average on D,dominates the boards....then....pffft....one drive, gets fouled,1 point. Plays a few good possessions on D man on Duncan-but otherwise...matador. The BIG bitch I have is that he KNOWS rebounds-so at least that should be there. Suddenly Foyle is catching the ball and finishing---and it's Beans bobbling passes and slapping rebounds to the other team. Monta's D leaked like it hit an iceberg. I'd think playing time would be improving his dribble and pass skills-but he's thinking about getting shots and his fundamentals were ragged,Pietrus and Barnes tried, but both are guys who,if they try too hard to carry the team, start making mistakes.
What O'Bryant did was in the context of garbage time. Both teams emptied the bench. However-I did see a nice transition in how he played. At first-he had the garbage time look of a guy who just wants to have something in the box score. He then settled in and eventually was looking like a guy with some game.

Didn't get to see the game. But I figure Murphy is a matador on defense.
What game? Pietrus looks horrible because he's gotten away from what he did early, cut to the basket and look for the pass, avoid spot up 3s, avoid dribbling, play D and rebound. Murphy? Just exposed. Baron jacking a 3? Whatever someone said that he's decent, he is horrible 32.6%, lifetime. Yeah he can make some, but shoot them when you are way up, not otherwise. Go to the bucket, distribute the ball, shoot fadeaways from the left baseline. Biedrins maybe hitting a plateau, that's okay. I was deluded into thinking that he would go 18 and 15 every game. I think Nellie saw them stinking it up and said let's go for Houston. Keep Luther Head away from the ball at the end.

For example, you shoot 100 3-pointers at 32.6% and you have 98 points. You shoot 100 2-pointers at 49% and you also have 98 points.
