For some bizare reason, I was just reading up on Rafael "Hoffa" Ara?jo on Wikipedia, and the article spoke about how he tested positive for steroid abuse, heres the part I'm refering too: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">During the 2002 World Championships in Indianapolis, Araujo tested positive for the steroid nandrolone. He was given a 24 month suspension from international play. He was subsequently found clean during tests while a player at BYU, and the NBA does not test athletes for steroid use.</div> Notice the part in bold? I never knew about this before reading that, and I almost burst into laughter after reading it. So let me get this straight, Adolf Stern is quick to knuckle down on the height and positioning of the way players wear their sweatbands, yet he doesnt find it necessary to test players for steroid abuse!?
Weren't they supposed start drug testing players randomly mid season? I recall that they used to only test players at training camp (and only rookies iirc)several years ago, but last season (or the season before that) they started testing players in-season. I remember that there was some player who complained, because the test was done at half-time, but the process was delayed so the player couldn't get back out on the court untill late in the third quarter or something.
