Brett Favre says he wants more time to decide whether or not to retire. As I predicted, he's waiting to see what the team does in the draft and Free Agency so he can get a feeling for whether or not 2006 will be a more successful campaign than 2005 was.

Favre is due a $3 million roster bonus next week (March 8th). I'm guessing he's going to push that date back to give himself more time and to avoid potentially soaking the team for the money.

I honestly thinks he's undecided.. I don't think he knows what to do. I still have a hunch he retires but the longer this goes the better chance of him coming back.

I think he should come back because then he could be backup to Aaron Rodgers and give him some advice, be a mentor, etc.

I think he should not come back because it won't be helping the team since they are in the "rebuilding" stage.

With the settlement not reached this really helps the Packers. We are under the cap and can be one of the few teams active in free agency. Meaning when teams cut a guy they could be in Green&Gold this year.

For once I give credit for TT. He did a nice job of fixing Sherman's mess as a GM. Sherman was a good coach in my opinion but a horrible GM.

How so? Sherman screwed up as GM from a personnel talent/draft standpoint, but every contract that he did was set up as long term cap friendly.

If Sherman were a bad GM money wise, the Packers would be in cap hell right now. Sherman's frugal nature in the long run is giving Thompson more room to play now.

He got rid of guys like Cledius Hunt..

Don't get me wrong I think TT is way to conservative in spending money but I thought Sherman was a poor GM. Joe Johnson was really lazy when it came to rehabbing and never even got going. Sure you can't blame the injuries on Sherman but you have to judge his character and his laziness ultimatiely killed us. Cledius Hunt was another example.. We had Terry Glenn for one year and shipped him off.

Look at the draft 2 years ago. Ahmad Carroll, Joey Thomas, BJ Sander, and Donell Washington.

Thomas is already gone and Sander and Washington appear on their way out. Carroll over Gamble still makes me wanna puke to this day.

Like I said I like Sherman as a Head Coach but as a GM that runs the team I thought he was awful.

I guess Favre is singing the Rolling Stone Lyrics "Time is on my side" as featured in the movie Fallen w/ Denzel.

BTW, Fallen was a great movie!

he can play thats not in question its what he said in the interviews thats kinda swayed some of his critics, if you have it physically which he still can play with the best.... yes hes a gunslinger he'll throw some pixs from time to time... but with walker out and ahman green hurt it was hard to have a good season last yr.... but when he said he just doesn't have it mentally the drive i mean thats the deciding factor hes bulit up an astounding career up with hall of fame statitics in a number of categories but... like he said last yr to the point he doesn't want to stay around to mentor i can't see him backing up anyone i'd rather see him retire i know there 'rebuilding' but if he can have a yr like we all know he can..... the are in the hunt.... it all depends ImO if he is still mentally there we all know he is tough of course with a number of adversities in recent yrs hes had to face.... i'd love to see him have a great yr if he decides to for go retirement... but if hes just gonna drag his boots ( if his hearts not in it anymore) I'd hope he'd retire but his legacy is cemented ......

I would hate too see the best quarterback of my lifetime go out after a terrible 05 season but whos to say 06 will be any better... sometimes you just have to cut your loses and quit while your still ahead
