kobe is passing and scoring a reasonable amount of points, idk if its his knee, the new ball, or just him, but i hope it stays like this. bynum and kwame have been a great duo at the center position, luke is good, smush isnt havin a great year but he'll start rollin, i like farmar, mo evans is decent, i think we have a shot to contend. sunday we play the spurs and if we beat them we should be considered one of the best in the league GO LA!
can someone tell me what's up with Kobe's low rebounding and assists average? Honestly, i expected 5.5 RPG and 6 APG from him.
kobe has... averages: 3.8 def rebs. 0.8 off rebs 4.7 assists 26.1 ppg kobe highest average for def was in the 5's and he had one season like that, rest was middle 4's and assists so far are more than last year, i agree with u though

On defense Odom, Evans, and Brown are taking care of the glass so the rebounding for Kobe is limited. I'm not sure what the Lakers pace is for 100 possessions per game, but I'm guessing it's low compared to the league average, which results in less shot attempts by both teams. Less shot attempts = less missed shots = less rebounds. The assists are done because Kobe is getting "Gretzky" assists this season. He's initiating the offense, so a majority of his passes are responsible for being the pass before the assisted basket. For example: A typical Laker offensive sequence would be Kobe to Walton to Odom .. Walton gets credit for the assist, but Kobe was the actual player to initiate the offense leading up to the made bucket by Odom. I agree with you HugeLakersFan8, this is one of my favorite Laker teams to follow. The chemistry is great!
thanks for answer. I was just wondering, because i thought that Kobe would be getting around 5.5 RPG and 6 APG with Walton's 3 point shot being automatic, Lamar and co. being able to hit the open shot.

one other thing... the lakers have lamar, kwame, bynum, turiaf to rebound the ball thats why kobe hardly gets 5 rebs a game.. compered to tmac who can easily get 5 rebs a game bec he is a big guard and only has Yao who has a high average in rebs or lebron who gets 7 a game bec he only has gooden to help coz Z is getting old... As for the assists they are pretty low considering he has only lamar and luke to contest for the assists...
I believe the Lakers are now officially a playoff threat. Don't sleep on them, they could suprise the whole league as early as this year!
