I've been trying to get the latest updates on Kobe's availability for tonight. He's been upgraded to questionable (which likely means he plays) against the Hornets tonight.

The Hornets are a tough matchup for us, but with Peja out of the lineup they've been struggling to find offense.

Smush has to play the way he did the other night in the Clipper game, and bring some consistent defensive energy.

Lakers have yet another important home game early in the season, we need to take care of business tonight and pad our wins before we head out on a long road trip.

    Discuss the game here!

Should be a fairly easy game for us.

I say Lakers win by 11

Well, although Kobe is listed questionable, there's no doubt in my mind he will suit up and play. Anyways, this should be a pretty easy game for the Lakers. The Hornets are without both Peja and West, so we should take this one. Let's just hope we don't pull another "Miluakee Buck"

This game started well for Lakers and they started playing dopey Defense at towards the end of the second quarter. Their effort in the end was pathetic, the play looked as if they were going on summer vacation the next day. The offensive rebounds against us and the braindead turnovers made me sick to my stomach.

Lakers got exposed tonight, straight up.

If you can't beat a team without 3 of their 4 best players and you're playing at HOME off a day rest?

Sorry, I don't care if you had an off night, there is no excuse for that crap.

LOL at Lamar Odom dribbling the ball inbounds. Believe it or not, he has done that before as well. In his rookie season with the Clippers, he also did the same thing. Dude is quite absent minded sometimes I guess.

This was one of those games the Lakers needed to lose to give PJax an excuse to rip into them. We've seen this team lose focus before, so I wasn't surprised they overlooked the Hornets and ended up getting embarrased on their homecourt.

The Lakers allowed Chris Paul to impose his will on this team and dictate the pace of the game. The Hornets cannot score unless you allow them to get easy buckets in transition. Our transition defense was awful last night and the Hornets got easy baskets and their confidence grew the longer the Lakers allowed them to stick around.

The Hornets had 20 offensive rebounds last night! 20! You give up 20 offensive rebounds to your opponent, it means you're playing lazy basketball.

I expect the team to regroup after this loss and dismantle Atlanta on Friday.

What? Did he dribble over to the bench to talk to Phil Jackson and go to far?

No, he was the inbound man, and instead of passing the ball he just took it and dribbled it. Serious mental lapse.

Does anyone have a video of this? I heard about it and cracked up. I just want to see it.

12 seconds into the clip. And when you watch and think, did that really just happen. Yeah that really happened.

The video pretty much sums up the game last night.

On another note, I am getting so annoyed of Laker fans, especially at the CL forum.

I feel like we have the stupidest, most fair-weather fans EVER.

Word. Although it would be fantastic, the Lakers are not going to win and show up for every game. Losing to the Hornets is not the end of the world.

I feel like if I don't have "HUUUUGE #1 KOBE FAN" on my forehead, then I can't make a comment about Kobe, because then everyone will be on my ass.

It's disgusting. About 2 months ago I realized what non-Laker or people that aren't HUUUGE fans of Kobe have to go through.

I posted a thread asking Why Kobe was not on the bench or on the floor after the timeout with 1:34 left and I got a bunch of ridiculous replies.

I don't buy that he was getting ankle treatment, and if he was, he should have waited til the game was over, because as a Leader I feel he should have been with the team til the game was completely done.

He was part of the loss (though I feel he had the least to do with the loss) and I feel he should have been on the floor until the game was over to go get his ankle treatment.
