Kobe can score 58 in a game but still lose to the BOBCATS!

Quote:

So wait in the 2002 Western Conference Finals, did the Kings get 27 fouls called on them, or on the other team (Lakers I think).

If it was on the Kings, it would only make sense if they were doing a massive Hack a Shaq.

No the Lakers shot (I believe) 27 Freethrows in the 4th quarter of game 6......I know officials can make bad calls from time to time, but that game was an outright disgrace to basketball.....the officials literally "gave" the game to the Lakers in the 4th.

    But back to the topic

Imagine Ralph Sampson next to Olajuwon throughout their whole careers????...oh what could've been.....I think they would've dominated the 90's.....just think about this

    C - Hakeem
    PF - Sampson
    SF - Horry
    SG - Drexler
    PG - Smith

    Bench

    Cassell
    Elie
    etc.....

of course we might have not gotten Drexler if we had Sampson, but to think of a team with that much talent is scary

Another thing that always makes me go hmmm, are the Laker teams of the late 90's......I always thought they should've kept Eddie Jones and Elden Cambell.......Glen Rice was a waste....

    C - Shaq
    PF - Cambell
    SF- Jones
    SG - Kobe
    PG - Fisher/Harper

    scary stuff.

Top 10 players in steals per 40 minutes for all players who've played at least 200 minutes:

CODE

player Minstl/40
-------------------------------------
1 claxton,speedy 711 3.3
<font color=""NavyBlue"">2 cardinal,brian 242 3.0
3 rondo,rajon461 2.9
4 ginobili,manu880 2.6
5 artest,ron 961 2.6
6 brown,dee204 2.5
7 armstrong,darrel 432 2.5
8 allen,tony 807 2.4
9 brewer,ronnie348 2.4
10ewing,daniel 274 2.2

You guys have seen Brian Cardinal, right? And it's not a fluke either. In his last two seasons with Memphis, he's averaged 2.4 steals per 40 minutes.

Which is why W-L record, particularly early in a season, is pretty worthless. Point differential indicated that Utah wasn't anywhere near as good as that record, even after those 13 games.

Ok let me give you another example:

Knicks beat Pistons. Hamilton scored 51.

You said Kobe scored 58 points and lost to BOBCATS!
Then I was like Bobcats beat Pistons meaning Bobcats aren't as sorry as you think they are. Then you said did anyone on the Pistons score 50 points when they played Bobcats? I gave you another example of when a good team lost to a bad team when Hamilton scored 50+ in loss to Knicks just like Kobe scoring 50+ in a loss to a bad team? So??

What I am saying is that if a player scored 50+ against a bad team doesnt mean his team should win. It's a team effort. How do you know only one player on a certain team isn't the only one scoring? So like that, Hamilton and Kobe's 50+ were worthless since their teams lost to "not that good" teams.

I agree with you. But that game went to 3OT so Hamilton's stats are a little inflated. And I think he fouled out near the end, too.

Didn't Nash lose to the Wizards, a terrible road team, in Phoenix when he scored 42 points and had 12 assists? Does that make him a bad player?

-NY has a chance to make the playoffs.
-NJ and TOR both have 22-23 records, but since NJ has a game over TOR they are 4t in the East and TOR is 8th. Funny how that works.
-First a McGrady-less Rockets beat the Spurs and now a Yao-less Rockets do so as well.
-The Magic, and the Jazz were pretending.

    - Yao Ming hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy
    - Yao Ming has started the all-star game every year even though he wasn't always the best center.
    - Eddy Curry leads all centers in scoring (minimum 30 games)
    - Rafer Alston plays 37 MPG and shoots less than 37% from the field
    - The Celtics are 2 losses away from setting a franchise losing streak franchise record
    - The Magic have lost 8 of their last 10
    - Balkman was an excellent pick and is better than many of the prospects chosen before him
    - Mardy Collins is wack
    - Knicks are 17-0 when leading after 3 quarters
    - Jason Collins averages: 2.7 PPG l 35.6% FG l 49.4% FT l 100% wackness

    WHOA! Thats an interesting stat.

Well, the NYK have never been known for comebacks.

-People think Yao is injury prone or can't stay healthy when his injuries are caused by other players mistakes. It's funny though, how much abuse he takes and people wonder why he is injured.

-Chuck Hayes sent both Shaq and Yao out with knee injuries.
