Hm, that's pretty interesting. 3/1 odds for Dwight is pretty suprising considering he hasn't even been an All-Star yet (like TheHighness said) and he hasn't been the most consistent player this year. I'm glad he's getting respect but 3/1 is very high.

Also, I edited the thread title just so it's easier to read.

They think Lebron James (3/2) is more likely than Dwight. Its still too high, though.

MVP's always been about value to your team + your team's success level in my mind. Therefore, I'd definately have Dwight Howard in the running, since he is the best big man in the east, and probably in the top 5 all nba, given his age. Should his production drop off, then I think you start looking at the usual suspects, LeBron, Kobe, Duncan, so forth... while I doubt NBA voters would have the guts, if Steve Nash can keep from wearing down and maintain pace, he'll post a 20/10 season points/assists, which hasn't been done since Hardaway over a decade ago, and that's certainly going to net him some attention. I doubt Nash would win it even if he averaged 30/15, though... fans responded so skeptically last year when he won (I would have voted for him), and I don't think that three consecutive MVPs is something a guy like Nash can pull off in people's minds, even if he were to earn it on the court... so chiefly, I think LeBron's your big challenge. Kobe is damaged goods, cause he has enough people who indiscriminately dislike him that it'll be a tougher sell that a 20 year old center who dominates with a grin.
