On ESPN radio today, Collin Cowherd had Eddie Johnson on (Phoenix Suns consultant) and Eddie was under the impression KG will end up with the Lakers. He felt it's just a matter of time before KG looks in the mirror and realizes he's not able to shoulder a team anymore and before he retires he'll want a legit shot at winning a 'Chip. He said the Lakers are an attractive team for him, and they have young players Minnesota would be interested in. He also said KG shouldn't worry about people turning on him and viewing him as a heel, because he's always carried himself as a professional on and off the court. He went on to say a lot of franchises make the mistake of holding onto players for too, long and unless you've won a title like Bird, McHale in Boston or Dr. J in Philly, the best move for both sides is to part ways.
The whole KG thing is so bizzare. he crys about not winning but hes happy? the man literally sheds tears on camera. But who am I to get in his head? Any team would love to build around KG. If kg was drafted to L.A. Chicago or newyork he would have at least 1 ring by now. Minny manegment is a pile of horse crap.
<div class="quote_poster">TheBlackMamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I'd love to see KG a Laker, but I doubt if it happens while he's still an effective asset.</div> Yeah I've pretty much given up on it ever happening, but this sort of rekindles the dream. This is the first time I've heard a legit source mention the possibility. DO IT MITCH!
Financially is impossible to get him to LA. We would have to get a third or even fourth team involved. Really rare these days. He has a better chance to go to New York or Chicago then LA.
As much as I want KG to win, I really want him to stay in Minny. Even if it means for him to go down a Reggie Miller. I respect Reggie probably more then any player, for everything he gave to his city and his team. But you'll respect KG no matter what, I just hope to god he doesn't pull a Mailman, and Minny can bring it together.
I don't think its impossible financially to get KG he makes 21 million but we have some big contracts too like Odom, Mckie, Mihm, and Bynum this could work the only thing that makes me doubt the possiblity of a trade is the fact that Kevin McHale is the Wolve GM... I doubt an ex-Celtic could live with the fact that he helped the Lakers win another championship.

Kevin McHale is not the GM of the Wolves anymore, I think Rex Chapman is their current GM. McHale is President of Basketball Operations. However, if/when KG gets traded, it's going to be the owner, Glenn Taylor making the ultimate decision, not McHale.
What i meant financially was in the sense that due to salary caps the Lakers wont be able to trade for him. They would have to get rid off 2/3 of the current Lakers core. I dont think Mitch nor Dr. Buss want to do that with so many young talent. He'll opt out in 2008 and then I see him coming to the Lakers. Meanwhile there is no hope.
NO ODOM, NO BYNUM for KG and thats fine for me Kwame/Mihm-Vrad-Mckie-sasha2.1mil bonus-picks for KG lol
I dont' think I'm really willing to trade for him anymore. Bynum has shown that he's going to be an EXTREMELY valuable asset to our future, and right now, Odom is playing, at the very least, the most consistent basketball of his 8 year career. If he's willing to take a substantial paycut after this season and opts out of his contract, then I'd definitely look at him as an FA, but I don't want to have to give up a nice chunk of our roster to get him via a trade, it's almost not worth it.
There is a lot of draw for a player like KG and most of us would love to have him. I don't know that even the new and improved Kobe attitude could handle the presence of another PTPer.
I think Kobe could. At this point, Kobe seems to be focused in Championship more than his own personal glory. I just dont think there is room for KG if we have to give up key pieces to our franchise after Kobe steps down. Bynum is the future. Free Agency seems to be the best bet if we are ever able to aquire KG's services.
According to Jim Gray, Allen Iverson wants to be traded to the Timberwolves. If that trade does indeed occur, we can pretty much put all these KG rumors to rest.......

But do you think that KG and Ivo have talked about this personally? KG seemed so stuck on staying in minny then ivo demands a trade to philly. kind of suspicious.
The rumor is now dead, since AI says a deal with Minnesota is in the works in which he would pair up with KG.

AI isn't trying to stir up anything. He's poured his heart and soul into that organization and they haven't done anything to improve the situation. He wants out. They're going to trade him. A.I. will be in a new uniform by Wednesday.
<div class="quote_poster">TheBlackMamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> they haven't done anything to improve the situation. </div>I'm sure they've tried. they have acquired some decent players over the past few years. it's not their fault the team hasn't won a championship. Igoudala and Dalembert were solid picks.

The Sixers have not tried at all to give Allen Iverson a core that he can win with. It's just about time he finally decided he's had enough with this organization
