<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You can perhaps file it in the it's-mostly-old-news bin, but John Smallwood of the Philadelphia Daily News offered this tidbit in a Wednesday column on 76ers general manager Billy King: "(King) conceded he had tried to work out a three-way trade among the Sixers, Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz that (last offseason) would ultimately have sent (Allen) Iverson to Boston and left the Sixers with the No. 7 pick in the draft, which King would have used to select Villanova's Randy Foye. The Sixers would also have gotten Jazz forward Carlos Boozer, who is suddenly looking like an All-Star and the comeback player of the year ... "</div> Source Too bad this deal didn't go through, I would have liked to see if Pierce/Iverson could co-exist on the court. The 76ers would end up with two solid pieces. It doesn't mention who the Jazz end up with, probably a few of the Celtics young players Al Jefferson or Perkins.
this is the trade i really wished was going to happen. too bad though, looks like the sixers will suck again.
I guess this is when the Jazz considered Boozer a bit of a bust. If they swung this deal back then and picked up some prospects from Philly and Boston, people would've commended them for getting rid of such a large contract. With the way he's started the season though, it looks completely unbalanced.
