Denver Trade Breakdown Outgoing Andre Miller 6-2 PG from Utah 13.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 8.2 apg in 35.9 minutes Joe Smith 6-10 PF from Maryland 8.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.7 apg in 20.2 minutes J.R. Successful Scenario Due to Philadelphia and Denver being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Philadelphia and Denver had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. would you do it? also am just posting, don't flame
whoever gets the best player wins the deal, and denver clearly would get the best player, I think the 6ers would want more in the form of young talent.
They'd have to throw in draft picks. The Sixers would be getting that point guard they always wanted, but without A.I. it doesn't really mean as much. I could see a one-sided trade like this happening, simply because Philly's bound to get less for him now that he's come out with the demand, but the Sixers would need some compensation in the future for basically tanking the next couple of seasons.
How compatible will AI and 'Melo be? They play so similar, IMO. Either way Denver will have to throw J.R. Smith in the deal for him, just like you have.
Philly doesnt need any more young gaurd/forwards, they have plenty. they need both young and experienced big men for this team.
not a good move for Denver - Andre Miller is more suited to their fast break style than AI and JR Smith is playing great since he got there.
