"We're not competition for San Antonio, yet," Jackson said. "This team isn't at that level." http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister/sport...cle_1376320.php I think he is right
I missed the game because of a charity event i need to attend to. BUt I can't believe ODom made that type of turn over. Unheard of.
i love phil... he knows we have a chance against the spurs, but he's still trying to motivate them to play at the next level and not lose to crappy teams anymore
I feel we have a good chance with the Spurs, don't call me crazy. This team always plays at full potential against the top teams. The only problem is that the Lakers have always seemed to underestimate, or not try against teams with "bad" records, thus resulting in losses
I agree with what pretty much everyone has been saying. I think Phil knows that the Lakers if they play well have a chance against the Spurs, but he is trying to motivate them in his own way after a loss to the Hornets.
Lakers can beat the Spurs as long as we show up, and I'm not talking about making the flight. If Lakers stay focused and play consistant up and down the floor, then we should be good. I like the psych that Phil's doing. Make the team prove him wrong. I predict a victory or a very close game if we don't win.
I think the Lakers have a good shot against the Spurs. It's just a matter of playing well and playing as a team. We can't try and break people down off the dribble on a consistent basis, cause that's just not going to work against the Spurs. They're too good defensively. If we can work within the triangle on offense and Kwame manages to frustrate Duncan on defense, we have a pretty good shot at winning. We just need to stay consistent on both ends and work within the triangle, staying away from one on one basketball, cause that's when we lose games.
On SportsCenter they were just talking about possible destinations for Iverson and they threw the Lakers in there. They named all the teams we have been hearing about for the last couple of days (Minnesota, Boston, New York, etc.) and then finished the report by saying, "Even the Knicks could make a deal for Iverson and Phil Jackson says, don't rule out the Lakers." I have yet to hear any sort of news regarding an Iverson to Los Angeles scenario. Have you guys?
