GM Billy King is attempting to accomodate the request as quickly as possible, according to two general managers that spoke with the Sixers' boss. "If you know your leader doesn't care, how are we supposed to play with the guy?" steamed a teammate to his agent. According to the same agent, Iverson reportedly told King he likes Maurice Cheeks as a person "but not as a coach." Mark Kizla of the Denver Post reports that a source informed him that the Nuggets are interested in Iverson.</div> Source
We all saw this coming. AI has given his whole career to the Sixers and he hasn't gotten anything out of it. It's time to move on. The Sixers haven't been able to get AI the help he needs to win, under bad coaching and bad management for the past few years. I'm sure that AI loves the Sixers and Philly, but he's not a youngster anymore and he wants to win again. The Sixers aren't going anywhere, and it's obvious that they'll start rebuilding soon. The two just don't fit anymore.
It would be nice to see one or several big trades happening this season. The east definetly needs some help.
I dont really like AI going to golden state. I think he should go to denver, boston, indiana, or maybe toronto.
<div class="quote_poster">MainMan Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">hmm golden state?</div> That's what I'm thinking, though they may be more interested in making it a 3 way and getting a veteran big man. I think Minnesota should/will push hard for him, offer up Davis, Foye, Griffin, picks, whatever it takes to get A.I. and K.G together. Then again they haven't made the best personnel moves in the past...
<div class="quote_poster">Trench Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Iverson in Denver? That would be interesting.</div> I'd hate that, AI to me just doesn't fit into a fast breaking team IMO It just doesn't seem right, I'd rather see him in a break when they can type team like Pacers, Memphis, Seattle, or maybe even Clippers.
AI and KG would be pretty strong, two guys hungry for a championship, but again Yao and Iverson would be better.
ai and yao wouldn't work imo, i can see ai dominating the ball too much and leaving yao out ai needs to be a situation where he is the focal point of the offense
<div class="quote_poster">Carter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">AI for Garnett.</div> That would make no sense. They would end up in the same situation that they are in now, except on different teams.
I was just fooling around on Real GM trade checker, and one possible scenario would be AI, Carney and Steven Hunter for Randy Foye, Ricky Davis (large expiring contract), Troy Hudson and Eddie Griffin (expiring contract), plus Minnesota could throw in a draft pick or two.
