Think about the salaries and stop with the really crappy trade ideas.

It does work cap wise and the main reason to do this trade is to dump Foyle's contract but still get a capable swingman in return

By salary-wise, I meant why would New Orleans take on Adonal Foyle's ridiculous contract?

Because Pietrus could be a 20ppg scorer for the Hornets as well as a good defender. In GS he has Ellis and J-Rich as well as Dunleavy to contend with.GS is going to be in luxery tax land if they extned Ellis and Pietrus since they already have J-Rich and Dunleavy on extentions.D-Mace is a cheaper alternative to resign than Pietrus and the talent bracket is similar between the two in many ways

Foyle despite his contract would get PT with Byron Scott because he plays D and doesnt complain

It's not unreasonable for either team. I'm not sure the Warriors would find Mason a reasonable re-sign,if they did-then the Contract dump works. Otherwise,Pietrus is a lot to lose to make a 3 yr contract into a 1 yr.

Well no, Pietrus is brimming with potential but he's still quite raw. He's nowhere near Mason's level yet and the Hornets would have to suffer through his refinement. But that's not the main problem with this trade. They're bringing arguably one of the worst contracts in the league. Foyle's game is totally redudant with Tyson Chandler's and a team like the Hornets, who just went on a major spending spree this offseason, can't afford to be burdened by Foyle's monstrous contract, even if it gives them a decent prospect like Pietrus.

Pietrus has alot more potential to do well in Hornets land than the Warriors and his stats are also better than Mason's this season.Pietrus has had a hinder to his development in GS because of the emergency of Monta Ellis as well as the extentions on J-Rich and Dunleavy Jr.

I dont see why you think the Hornets loosing Mason is such a gamble,West and Stojakovic have already been out most of the season, why not bring in a kid and see what he can do with major minutes. It doesnt look like their playoff contenders this season anyway

This is the way the Warriors team would look post Pietrus trade

    C-Andries Biedrins/Patrick O'Bryant
    PF-Troy Murphy/Ike Diogu
    SF-Mike Dunleavy Jr/Desmond Mason
    SG-Jason Richardson/Monta Ellis
    PG-Baron Davis/Monta Ellis

This is the way the Hornets would look post Mason Trade
    C-Tyson Chandler/Adonal Foyle
    PF-David West/Adonal Foyle
    SF-Peja Stojakovic/Rasual Butler
    SG-Mickael Pietrus/Bobby Jackson
    PG-Chris Paul/Bobby Jackson

You're ignoring the most important part of my argument again. Pietrus may be promising, but his potential upside can't possibly make up for bringing in Foyle's contract. As I said before, the Hornets can't afford to bring in a player that is redundant with Chandler and completely messes up their payroll.

What if Pietrus turns out to be a poor man's T-Mac or something in New Orleans.

Then im sure you will be the only one complaining about Foyle's contract
