It's not unreasonable for either team. I'm not sure the Warriors would find Mason a reasonable re-sign,if they did-then the Contract dump works. Otherwise,Pietrus is a lot to lose to make a 3 yr contract into a 1 yr.

He's nowhere near Mason's level yet and the Hornets would have to suffer through his refinement. But that's not the main problem with this trade. They're bringing arguably one of the worst contracts in the league. Foyle's game is totally redudant with Tyson Chandler's and a team like the Hornets, who just went on a major spending spree this offseason, can't afford to be burdened by Foyle's monstrous contract, even if it gives them a decent prospect like Pietrus.
