Why would the heat give up so much for Josh Childress, who while good doesn't address a glaring need and has consistency problems. Riley's already committed to Dorrell and forcing Simien and a 1st rounder into the equation makes Miami look like a bunch of fools.
<div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Riley's already committed to Dorrell.</div> If this was the beginning of the season before he got PT which was because Riley benched Antoine because of his slumpy play you would be saying this trade is a rape by the Heats. Seriously man,Riley is ''playing'' Wright because he is just trying to prove something to his vets as well as resting them more because he will need them come playoff time.Wright wouldnt be playing at all if his vets werent in a slump. Look at Simien, players like Hite and Quinn as well as Barron can get PT but not him. That proves Riley's confidence in him at this point Wright will get a ton of DNP-Coach Decisions come playoff time, you can book that
I have to admit nba_specialist_24_7 that you have been doing a good job communicating why you think these trades are good. Some of the speculated trades are interesting.

Here is my heat lineup after my two trade proposals C-Shaq O'Neal/Alonzo Mourning/Earl Barron PF-Udonis Haslem/Antoine Walker SF-Josh Childress/James Posey/ SG-Dwayne Wade/James Jones PG-Jason Williams/Gary Payton/Chris Quinn IR-Sean Marks IR-Robert Hite
But for an aging and definitely past-it's-prime Heat team, this is completely the wrong type of shakeup. There's been talk that this team is going to need a rebuild soon, as their veterans are all breaking down, so why would they sacrifice two good prospects AND a 1st rounder for a similar prospect. It's such a blatant rip-off against Miami.

I dont understand how this is a ripoff for the Heat, its actually pretty balanced if you ask me.Most Hawk fans would say this is a ripoff to them because they love Childress and obviously you love Wright which leads to our problem from both sides. We have to look at how management looks at it and not sentimental feelings you get from a High Schooler who is starting to play well. The Bottom line is that Josh Smith and Joe Johnson are going to be dominate in the backcoart for the Hawks for years to come, and Josh Childress is the odd man out.Childress is a great upcoming player but will not be worth the money to resign him just so he can be a glorfied sixth man on the bench,If he was starting and his spot was secured for years to come that would be a different story. The Heat could use someone like Josh Childress who is still young and can form a dinamic duo with Dwayne Wade.I am not saying Wright can't do that, but Wright has more holes in his game at this point and Childress is alot more polished and developed,as well as being good enough to secure the starting 3 spot for Pat Riley this season. This Heat team is at a point where they cant wait another 2 or 3 years for Wright to be fully developed.Shaq will be in a old folks home by then. The Hawks look at this on a financial level where they wont have to worry about giving Childress a huge extention so they wont lose him.The Hawks also still maintain a talent upside level in getting Wright and Simien.Wright can come in and backup Smith for years to come and be a spark off the bench.Simien would be a perfect backup for Shelden Williams. The bottom line is the Hawks save tons of money but still get to maintain a talent upside level they wanna keep and the Heat stay young but they get a more developed and polished player in the process

Why do you think Shaq continues to get injured, or Walker can't make an impact on the game anymore, or Payton is slowly becoming more ineffective? Riley knows that the window for this roster to win a championship was about two years and he managed to win one in the amount of time. Now, as the majority of the Heat's nucleus is breaking down, its only a matter of time until they start a minor rebuild. But, that's not the main issue here. You're focusing a lot on Wright and Childress, but did you pay attention to the rest of my argument. Why would the Heat give up a promising big man in Simien as well? And, more importantly, they're giving up a first rounder in a draft that could just as easily land them a prospect better than Wright and Childress.

I already said less talented players like Hite,Quinn and Barron are getting time over him. You always skip the things i am correct about and wont give me credit where credit is due.
The Heat cannot trade their 2007 pick. A team is not allowed to trade 1st round picks in consecutive years. Last year's pick was traded to the Lakers as part of the Shaq deal.
Dorrell Wright has been playing well lately, and Pat Riley has completely neglected trading Wright in any of his first two seasons due to Wright's potential skillset. Riley's practically in love with the guy.

Yea, it's a shame no one said that before. Oh wait... <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">Riley's already committed to Dorrell </div>

<div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Doesn't mean I was any less right.</div> check and mate. And I can't believe that you said that the nucleus isn't past its prime. Shaq is done....he is constantly injured, he played second fiddle to wade last year, and into the playoffs, and was riding the pine during alot of crunch time....could you spend 20 mill worse? Walker needs a walker...have you ever seen any player age worse or deteriorate more quickly. Jwill has never hit his potential and i believe he probably plateued in sac. Mourning is still kicking but how long can that last? Payton has become a non factor. thats alot of players who are clearly not in their prime anymore. Can you possibly make an argument that any of those players are peaking/prime/improving players? No, you lose.
