At first I was like Dallas gives up what....? But then if you have AI and Dirk on the same team, now you have TWO playmakers and premier scorers. AI will find ways to get buckets and get to the line that Jason Terry and Devin will never find - he has that extra ability. And you keep your frontcourt players....Dirk has shown that if you don't really focus on him, he will score 40 on you - every night of the week. AI the same.... Cuban should try and pair these guys they would be the best 1-2 punch since Shaq-Kobe. Although I'm not sure why on earth Lakers would like that trade.
Yea the Lakers are giving up 3 of their big men Vlad Radmonovic has more years left at a reasonable salary. Mihm has expressed that he wants to stay with the Lakers, and Kwame (and has this year and next year left on his contract) has been playing well for the Lakers. Chris Webber wouldn't be able to defend opposing centers as well as Kwame, and doesn't seem to have the best FG% for a PF at 38.5% this season.
Neither of those trades would happen. Cuban already said he wouldn't trade Harris to get A.I. and he sure as hell isn't trading Howard for A.I. If Dallas does get A.I. it would be something like Terry (veteran scorer), Croshere (huge expiring contract), and Diop or Ager (cheap young talent) and maybe some other toss ins.

I think you're overrating Howard just a bit, yes he is good on both sides of the ball, but we're talking about ALLEN IVERSON here. One of the best players of alltime? One of the most unstoppable and creative scorers out there??? yes, he dominated the ball a bit in Philly, but that doesn't mean he can't pass to Dirk every once in a while..... AI does NOT NEARLY deserve this bad rap that some basketball snobs are giving him....

Secondly, we're talking about Cuban here, hes extremely biased toward everyone on his team but especially Dirk, Howard, and Harris. Iverson is already over 30, shoots a low %, tends to dominate the ball and kill ball movement (though we don't know how he'd play with better teammates), he gets paid 20 mil a year. Howard hasn't yet reached his prime, is already a great two way player and is paid well. No other teams are offering any players as good as Howard either and I don't think anyone will. I agree that A.I. gets a worse rap than he deserves but for all of his accomplishments hes still a 31 year old guard who dominates the ball and turns it over quite a bit, and no one is going to trade an all-star level player who hasn't reached their prime yet for him.
josh and harris is too much, though it's an interesting scenario. if this somehow did happens, sixers have a sweet young backcourt. webber would not be able to play center for teh lakers, i dont know if he would fit well with lamar and kobe, all the 3 need teh offense to run through them to e effective. mavs can prolly get AI cheaper without josh howard. they can win it all with this roster right now, i dont know. kg might get his wish though...
That is a horrible, horrible trade for the Lakers. Why would they trade Radman, who looks to be turning to corner and recovering from his injury and learning the triangle, Kwame (who is just as servicable as Chris Webber) and Mihm (when healthy, a good role player) for Chris Webber? Horrible.
no way would i do the dallas trade, howard and harris will be great down the road, not iverson-like good, but iverson is already pass his prime interms of his physical abilities. so i wouldn't do it
I'd give up Terry instead of Howard to get AI. Would be an awesome trade for both teams. Sixers Trade Allen Iverson Kyle Korver Kevin Ollie Shavelik Randolph for Mavericks Trade Jason Terry Devin Harris Jerry Stackhouse Austin Croshere Maurice Ager
<div class="quote_poster">Brian Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">No way in hell the Lakers trade for Webber</div> I think your really not looking into this trade much Kwame Brown has done better this year for Phil but dont think Phil wouldnt trade him in a 2nd for more experience up front. Vladamir was just brought in by the Lakers because he did well for the Clippers and he was brought in below market value.Jackson only plays him when he has to.Vlad's defence is not up to par in Jackson's eyes Mihm is a steady Center, but his injury problems are a concern. He is expiring and just used as a throw as well as with McKie to make it work. Webber will never be the same Chris Webber he was in his Early Sactown days, but the guy could easy come into the triangle offence and average 15ppg,9 boards and 1.5 blocks for Phil,as well as 3 assists. He passes the ball well and would let Odom roam on the perimeter more. I only put him at Center because Walton has been starting at the 3 all season long.in reality they could have Bynum,Webber and Odom up front
that would be a pretty good trade for the lakers, but after watching some sixers games this year it really seems like webbers abilities have severely diminished, with the exception of his passing. He really just needs to retire.
Webber's actually been playing pretty good the past couple games IMO. But yeah, the Lakers don't really need Webber.

Or Nov 8th he fouled out in 21 minutes. Anyway, so if Bynum plays 7 minutes, having Webber as your primary backup for a young Bynum is going to be tough. Webber is shooting 12 pts on 40% in 30 mpg Kwame is scoring 9 on 57.5% in 26 mpg. With their center, the Lakers need someone to score efficiently down low with slams. Kwame seems to be doing that efficiently, while Webber seems to be sticking to jumpers more as can be seen from his FG%. Kwame is shooting 58% around the basket, while Webber is shooting 47% around the basket. Using http://www.nba.com/hotzones/ I think Kwame will do a better job of defending centers than Webber, as he lengthier and has good knees, not to mention he most likely will improve with time as Webber will continue to decline and have problems with tendinitis. Add in Radmonovic's extra big body, his reasonable contract, and the potential that he might start shooting well, and finding a valuable role in the Triangle offense as time passes. As well Mihm who seems to want to come back to the Lakers, if he resigns for a reasonable amount he could be as good as a third tier center the Lakers could ask for.
