Frustrated Khryapa Takes Beef To Skiles
    9th December, 2006 - 4:13 am
    Chicago Tribune -
Inactive for the third straight time Friday, Bulls forward Viktor Khryapa said it's too early to ask for a change of scenery. But Khryapa, who also has five "did not play-coach's decision" designations and talked to coach Scott Skiles earlier this week about his lack of a role, isn't happy.

"I'm frustrated; why not?" Khryapa said. "I'm surprised because I didn't do anything wrong. I played good in preseason. I don't understand why. Just because there are too many guys? It's ridiculous." [READ]</div>

Interesting part if you read more of the article on the realgm site.

We should have kept JR Smith.

I find it interesting that a guy who was not even recognized as an NBA player prior to coming to Chicago is now mad because he does not have a role. This is why I like a player like Mike Sweetney he always starts the year off in the dog pound, but instead of complaining he works hard to get back in the lineup. Khryapa needs to suck it up and realize the team is on a seven game tear right now why mess with that?

He just needs to be quiet and work hard until he gets his chance like Skiles said.

This is pathetic, the talk about trading or waiving Viktor that is. I completely understand where he's coming from in this sense because he has been putting up more solid play then other bench warmers. The problem is that the Bulls staff have no idea what to do with all of the players on the current roster. That is the biggest issue plaguing the team right now and if they don't fix that soon they won't get very far in the Playoffs.

Skiles hasn't impressed me as a coach too much this season nor really the previous one either. He acts far too much like he owns the team and the players rather then going by his true role as a coach. All of this crap about Ben Wallace is already a big fluke as it is. The man was never even as good as Dennis Rodman truthfully and yet his contract is bulging the team into orbit. At first I thought he could replicate the same numbers, but look at Rodman's role for the Bulls during the first season and you'll notice that Wallace isn't exactly living up to nearly 20 percent of his wages.

Viktor should be given a better role, as should a few others. Some just make up uneeded space. They need to downsize the roster unless they start giving players who are able to improve their numbers (like Viktor and Sweetney) more playing time. Even Thabo does not play far enough during games. he may be a rookie, but he isn't very young and if they're not careful he could be a huge bust and a waste of fresh talent.

I can't stand to watch the current downslide of a great franchise and I hope for some much needed improvement.

I agree with M Two One, Viktor is an underrated talent. He can defend multiple positions effectively and has the ability to get under a player's skin. He's very competitive, and I just think he's frustrated because he doesn't have a role on this team.

Usually a coach will tell you, you need to do A, B, and C to get in the game. So if Viktor does A, B, and C, but doesn't get rewarded, then of course he's going to be frustrated and wonder what he did wrong.
