How bad of a game was this today? -Portland is something like 27th in rebounding in the league. We get out rebounded by 22 without their leading rebounder on the floor (given we didn't have Bosh either). -Raptors have 5 turnovers compared to the Blazers 20. We still don't win. I believe we had around 20 points off turnovers from what Chuck and Leo were saying during the game. This just shows how bad our offensive sets are considering the number of easy baskets we got and we still shot 34%. -We play a 1 o'clock home game against the 2nd worst team in the western conference and we come out looking like we're still asleep. -We let our opponents shoot 46% from behind the arc. I think we had no business losing this game by 10 points, we realistically should have lost by 20 and this was supposed to be a winnable game.
Bosh or no Bosh, there's no excuse for this loss. Getting owned by Portland for the entire game when we had home court advantage and that 1pm start is just unacceptable. If Bosh isn't playing again tomorrow, then screw it, I'm not even gonna bother with the game. Instead, I will entertain myself by watching random videos on youtube.
Sam Mitchell's completely lost this team. They played with no energy and it looked like they felt defeat was inevitable after the 1st quarter. I was with a13x: I started watching the Barcelona/Moscow game halfway through, because it was so frustrating watching our offensive sets. The funny thing is, despite a crappy talent level, both European teams moved the ball so much better than us. It's just plain ridiculous. My bad with the game thread.
I thought I was at New Jersey watching the Nets play without Kidd and Carter. The fans weren't making any noise at all, we played with no energy, no hustle, and we let Portland, whos ranked 29th in the league at rebounds, out rebound us. Fire Sam.
as i was watching portland, i thought to myself: this how u build a young team. they can play an up-tempo game, in large part due to their athletic, young pg's (jack, dickau) but they can slow it down as well and pound it into their bigs (e.g.randolph, magolire), who have shooters to kick it out to (webster, dixon, brandon roy, jack). we on the other hand have one shooter (mo. pete), one good big (bosh) and two erratic point guards who have suspect jumpers.
This was flat out embarrassing. Guys didn't even make an effort. I was pissed with Garbo the whole game, jacking up shots, standing on the perimeter and not even going for rebounds. Bargnani did nothing either, didn't box out, just stood there watching the ball. There was only one player (at most) under the backet trying to get a rebound. If Colangelo doesn't make some kind of move soon, I'm not sure what he's waiting for. I hope he feels embarrassed to be a part of this organization right now. I wanted to punch someone watching this game. As dunksworth said, if Bosh isn't playing tomorrow night, I'm not even going to bother watching the game. I'm just wasting my time if they're going to play like this.
Best quote from Mitchell after the game: "We can get a stop, but if we can't get the rebound, it doesn't matter what defense you play," I guess he forgot to mention that they were inter-related. No matter, if that's the case I'm sure his mantra is "I can't teach rebounding" anyways.

I'd rather Bosh get healthy because you could tell he wasn't all there the last couple of games. Hopefully they at least put some type of effort tonight. I was mad after what happened last game but I'll still watch them these next two games. As Raptor fans we're pretty used to this type of thing unfortunately.
