<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ORLANDO, Fla. -- If you are the Pistons and you are trying to gauge where you are a quarter of the way through the season, which games do you focus on? The losses to Charlotte and Portland earlier this week, or the road win at Dallas on Thursday and the grinding 87-83 victory at Orlando on Friday?

    No-brainer.

"No question these two games say a lot about our team, about who we are and about where we expect to be throughout the season," said Chauncey Billups, who shook off the effects of a sore right hamstring and a muscle spasm in his neck to score a game-high 31 points. "We feel like we can play with anybody on any night, either home or away. These were two really good wins."

On Thursday, the Pistons became the first Eastern Conference to win in Dallas in 23 games. On Friday, playing the back end of their seventh back-to-back set of the season after arriving in Orlando at 3 a.m., they gave the current No. 1 team in the East something to ponder.

"When we are ready to play, when we play with the effort and energy we need to have, we are the best team in the league," said Richard Hamilton, who produced his first double-double of the season, 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Pistons showed the Magic what end-game execution was all about. The Magic had a three-point lead with five minutes left, and managed just one basket and a free throw the rest of the way.

The Pistons forced four turnovers down the stretch, and got one big-time block and two obliteration screens from Rasheed Wallace, to close on a 10-3 run.

"They have won a world championship, they're a veteran team and they have been in hundreds of games like this over the years," Magic coach Brian Hill said. "They made plays down the stretch and we didn't. Experience will do that for you."</div>
