The Hornets would have a wicked lineup if this goes down and everyone gets healthy. PG - Paul SG - Iverson SF - Peja PF - West C - Chandler I never even figured New Orleans would be in the AI sweepstakes, but adding Iverson makes a lot of sense to this team and franchise. The backcourt of Paul and Iverson would be highly entertaining, and with Byron Scott's wide open offense, the Hornets would have the explosive offense to rival the Suns. AI could give the city of New Orleans a boost with his popularity and charisma.

On the bad side, there is alot of teams after him (Minnesota,Mavericks, ect.), so it would be hard.
The Hornets back court would be extremely undersized. They would struggle immensely in the western conference with a back court with an average height of six feet. Although, the back court speed would be incredible. Also what number will AI wear?

The Hornets can get away with an undersized backcourt, because they have a lot of shotblocking and they do a number on the glass.
Nash and Barbosa are both around three to four inches taller than Iverson and Paul... I still think it'd be a worthwhile trade, but that height disadvantage is pretty staggering.
Really, it doesnt matter, the height difference is pretty much minimal, it should'nt even be an issue.
^ remember what happened when Jameer Nelson was a rookie and the Magic were starting him alongside Steve Francis? While Shape's points are valid that the Hornets do a good job on the glass and altering shots, there is no way that they could properly defend players like Kobe, T Mac or LeBron. With 6'10" and foot-slow Peja and a pair of 6 foot nothing guards, the Hornets would get torched by athletic wings who stand above 6'6", of which there are many in the league. Offensively, it would sure be something to watch a backcourt of AI and Paul. I tend to think that many NBA offenses are disorganized and not overly exciting, but I would pay money to see those two doing their thing. Such a trade would also make the Hornets a serious contender in the West, adding a superstar veteran to an excellent young nucleus.
<div class="quote_poster">Smitty Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Am I the only one that thinks Philly gets shafted in that trade? lol.</div> Well, you're probably right that the Hornets would get the better end of this deal. But there aren't likely any scenarios out there in which the Sixers would get truly equal value for AI. They shopped him much of the summer and didn't find any offers they liked, and now that every opposing GM in the league knows that Philly has to get rid of him, it's likely that the Sixers won't get equal value at all, but will just have to hope for enough cap space and/or draft picks that they can rebuild with good young players in 2007.

they would have to throw tyson in that deal. then the hornets would have no big man. deal doesnt work
