Good idea, they never should've made a new one anyways.

BTW- Any link to a source?

    Just got one up now.

Wow, I REALLY thought this would all quiet down about the new ball.

The decision will be formally announced by the league later this week, sources told ESPN.com.

Despite an avalanche of player complaints about the new synthetic model from the first day of training camp in October, skepticism was high among players that Stern would consent to a change during the season. But with a number of prominent players complaining of cuts on their hands caused by the new ball's high-friction cover -- Phoenix's Steve Nash and New Jersey's Jason Kidd among them -- Stern was forced to concede that an in-season swap was unavoidable with the new ball inflicting injuries.

This is kind of stupid, the players were finally hushing about it. I don't get Stern, at all.

I wonder if Stern will receive a red paint bath from the folks at PETA for changing back to the leather balls.

Stern got jealous that Iverson was all over the headlines and had to shift the attention back on himself.

Actually the Player's Union was going to file a lawsuit because the new ball was becoming a health issue for the players.

Too bad there's no health issue for the dress code or chewing gum.

An interesting thing to observe will be who starts to struggle after the old ball is put into play.

What's funny is that it's actually true. During the summer when I have all the time in the world, I would always get these cuts on the tips of my middle and index finger, and I would always be playing with my left, because eventually it got so bad I couldn't shoot with my right anymore. And basically, I think it happened because I was using a really crappy synthetic ball.

So, I guess since they are professionals, something like this would be an issue for them.

I think the only balls he needs to change are his.

Stern made a rule about chewing gum? What was it? (FYI, I've been swamped with school lately, I haven't had much time for the NBA)

I posted my original post (the players settling in with the ball) before I read about Nash and Kidd complaining about cuts on the hand. In that case, I'm glad we're going back to the leather ball.

They can't chew it during the national anthem.

Wow, what a pointless experimentation of something that didn't need to be changed in the first place.
