Steve Nash today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 10.

    Arenas led the league for the week averaging 37.3 points on .515 shooting in helping the Wizards to a 3-1 record. Arenas connected on 18-of-37 (.486) attempts from three-point range and added 5.5 assists, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game. He scored 41 points in Washington?s Dec. 9 loss at Houston marking the fourth time this season he has reached the 40-point plateau.

    Nash led the Suns to a 4-0 week which extended the team?s unbeaten streak to 10 in a row. For the week, he averaged 20.4 points on 31-of-54 (.574) shooting, including 10-of-17 three-point attempts, and added a league-best 11.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 42 points and tallied 13 assists and six rebounds in Phoenix?s 161-157 double-overtime win at New Jersey on Dec. 7, which tied for the fourth-highest scoring game in NBA history (318 combined points).</div>
