TERRIBLE game once again..... Finally, I know how important Bosh is on this team.... he makes a big difference for sure. IF BC can bring in at least 3 more allstar potential players, guys that can shoot, second option kinda thing, we will be fine. This team is finally exposed without Bosh, this Team SUCKS.... I still believe that this team can compete, we just need a coach. BRING in STAN Van GUNDY, the ex-miami coach, i think he will do good. I think it will be wise to bring in a new coach now, cuz the schedule goes in our favor once January kicks in. We got alot of home games and easier road games also.

We don't have the assets to attain 3 all-star callibre players, let alone 1 or 2.

My worst nightmare is we lose all season and then spend our first roudn draft pick on Marco Belinelli. <div class="quote_poster">boshbosh Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">BRING in STAN Van GUNDY, the ex-miami coach, i think he will do good. Not sure what triggered the health issues but if it had anything to do with stress coaching the raptors isn't going to help much.

That his kids were growing up so fast and soon would be going to college that he didn't want to miss their childhood and felt being a headcoach was devoting too much time away from family (travelling to other cities, home games, and then practices at home)
We have absolutely no chance at beating any team in this league without Bosh. Can someone teach Bargnani how to rebound? Rebounding does not consist of slapping at the ball in a random direction. We're horrible. I actually thought we addressed the depth situation this year but we're actually playing worse without Bosh than we did last season.

But, I put some of the blame on the coaches. On offense we have him on the 3 point line ... he's not getting any boards from out there. On defense you can tell his technique is bad, as you said slapping away rebounds etc. I honestly find it hard to evaluate anybody on this team right now because they are being allowed to do whatever they want, the things the coaching staff try to implement are so stupid you can't tell if players are screwing up on their own or are being told to do them. The fact Sam Mitchell is encouraging Fred Jones to take shots says it all to me. Fred is a slasher and should be driving to the basket. He's probably never going to shoot the mid-rage or the 3 at a high percentage so to encourage him to take those shots is ridiculous. While my first reaction to his recent weak performance was "what the hell is this guy doing on the court?" I realized afterwards from hearing Mitchell talk he was just doing what was being asked of him. Fred Jones was actually pretty effective when we were consistently (trying) to run the court. On another random note: Doug Smith was on the fan today and he got around to talking about how we didn't stick with our run and gun offense. He suggested bringing it back, anyone think this is a good idea?
I've said it before, but we've never lost the ability to be a run n' gun team. Its just you have to implement it properly. This coaching staff took arguably the worst approach to a fast-paced offense I've ever seen, and I wouldn't bring it back unless they're replaced.
The fact that Garbo and Bargs consists of our frontcourt is a huge part of our rebounding problem. They just drift out in the perimeter so there is no chance for offensive rebounds. On offense, without Bosh we have no sign of a post up game either. It's funny how many times on offense and defense that I can see no Raptors in or near the key with Garbo and Bargs playing at the same time.
They shouldn't be playing at the same time. I always shake my head when we're facing a legit post presence and, when Bargnani's coming in, Mitchell decides to take out Nesterovic instead of Garbajosa. It makes no sense at all.
If we want to play fast paced basketball, we should go small and have shooters. PG: Ford/Calderon SG: Jones SF: Parker/Mo Pete PF: Garbajosa C: Bosh/Bargnani Half courtball: PG: Ford/Calderon SG: Parker SF: Mo Pete PF:Bosh C: Rasho/Humphries We definitely can't be a Suns-like team, if we have Rasho-Bosh-Garbajosa on the floor, they are big guys and will tire out just as quickly as opponents. Anyway, my favourite type of team is similar to a San Antonio/Rockets build. San Antonio starts with defense, and if fast-break opportunities present themselves they take them and don't try to force it. If not, they go back to the half-court set.
