Believe it or not, celticsblog is one of the most popular blogs on the internet, and this guy has a lot of connections/sources. Take this as a rumor, but I think Jeff Clark is a reliable source...and he would never put something on his blog unless he really trusted the information.

Oh my god. This is not good. I'm not going to worry about this until things heat up.

    I wouldnt be too worried:

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Orlando Sentinel -
General Manager Otis Smith said Friday that the Orlando Magic won't be part of any trade scenario involving disgruntled Sixer Allen Iverson.

The Sixers will play the Magic tonight, but Iverson won't make the trip, Philly GM Billy King said. He was scratched from Friday night's game against the Wizards after he went public with his desire to be traded.

"We're not interested," Smith said. "It won't happen here."</div>

No way they would just give up on Nelson and Ariza like that.

This is interesting because earlier this week, Otis said we don't want Iverson.

Yeah but do you think Otis and the Magic would go from one extreme to the other?

I don't know how many times I've said this: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

True. Otis Smith also said we weren't going to sign Keyon Dooling two offseasons ago and look what happend. Maybe he changed his mind after seeing the way we've been playing lately?

Thrilla, how do you know this guy is reliable? Has he called any blockbuster trades in the past?

I'm not questioning the source and his connections, but I can't think of a worse fit for a player like Iverson than Orlando.

Please tell me Orlando already learned a ball-dominant guard ala Steve Francis does not work with Dwight Howard.

I was thinking the exact same thing. We are going to back to square one with this trade. Why would we ruin our team chemistry and break up a team that is currently winning? Our team is playing great right now thanks to the balanced attack that Brian Hill has implemented. Iverson can't fit into a balenced system because he is a ballhog and is known for making his teammates worse. This trade would hurt Dwight Howard who would have to take a backseat to Allen much like he did when we had Francis last season. This is so dumb and Otis Smith would be ruining our team if he were to do this.

I wouldn't say that Iverson makes his teammates worse. To be fair to him, he has basically been like Tmac was to us. No real reliable threats other than him. At this point in his career I think he would do whatever it takes to win. Now after saying all that, I HATE this trade. We would be getting ripped off badly.

I wouldn't take anything Otis Smith says to heart, he ALWAYS declines right before something happens. (Francis last year, Darko last year, etc.)

Giving up a dynamic young 1 like Nelson for Iverson, plus a steady hand in Hill, would be a terrible move, IMO. There's a serious chemistry going on right now with the Magic, and bringing in a ball-dominant combo guard would likely ruin that. I truly hope that this doesn't happen, because it would likely stunt Howard's growth and change a good dynamic that the team has right now.

Here's another article talking about the rumor:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With today’s afternoon deadline for trade proposals having come and gone, Billy King and the Sixer braintrust have been in meetings throughout the late afternoon and evening hashing over the various trade proposals. While the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors appear to be charging hard in the last 24 hours to have the winning bid, there is one other team that has come in under the wire with a very intriguing offer. According to an unnamed source, the Orlando Magic have offered Grant Hill (with his huge expiring contract), Trevor Ariza, and Jameer Nelson in hopes of obtaining Allen Iverson. This is the very same source who provided us with the info in our first update this morning.

All reports indicate a deal should be done by tomorrow night. Until then keep refreshing your browsers boys and girls, it’s going to be a bumpy night.</div>

guys, remember, otis said that francis' future with the magic was secure, but three days later, boom! we landed ariza

personally, i'd hate this...the only way i would do this deal is if we were getting iguodala and a pick in return...and even then id have to consider it for a while

An update was just posted on RealGM and they don't even mention us.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Newsday - Boston was in the hunt for Allen Iverson on Monday, with a deal that would include Al Jefferson and Theo Ratliff with his $11.7-million contract.

Jefferson said neither Rivers nor general manager Danny Ainge had spoken with him about it. "I don't want it to happen, especially my name involved in it," Jefferson said. Told after the game that Jefferson doesn't want to be traded, Rivers said: "He won't be. I try to stay out of it because I have to coach the players and I don't want to lie to the players. But I'm pretty comfortable in saying that Al will be here."

The Sixers reportedly want to include forward Chris Webber, who has $43 million remaining on his contract, but teams are backing away at that idea.

Golden State and Sacramento also appear to be among the teams most likely to acquire Iverson.

Indiana emerged Monday as a strong player, with discussions centering around Jamaal Tinsley and Stephen Jackson.</div>
