<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Sixers, according to a source, were close to sending Iverson to the Charlotte Bobcats for a package of players Monday afternoon. But Iverson indicated his displeasure with being sent to the Bobcats -- the league's newest team, having begun play in 2004 -- and the deal died, the source said. Iverson, a former Bethel High standout, asked to be traded last week, and a source indicated that he didn't care where he was sent. But that apparently did not extend to the Bobcats, who are struggling to draw fans, and who would have difficulty bringing someone to Charlotte who didn't want to be there, and who would likely make that unhappiness known to the public. With only a little more than $38 million in player salaries -- forward Gerald Wallace is the team's highest-paid player, at just $5.5 million this season -- Charlotte is about $15 million below the league's salary cap of $53.1 million and could make a major player acquisition easier than any team in the league.</div> Source
I don't like how Iverson is being picky. He asked to be traded, you had a chance and he turned it down.

Second, he would not be happy because like I already assumed and now know, he doesn't want to be in Charlotte. And third, we would be giving up young talent like Felton, Morrison, May, Wallace etc. and I'd rather keep them and continue towards building a championship contender.

Chicago is probably his best shot depending on what they have to give up for him. I don't even think KG and AI together is good enough to make it out of the West. Minnesota would not have the cap space to put the necessary talent around those two.
Bickerstaff Angrily Denies Iverson Rumor <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Bernie Bickerstaff, head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats , angrily denied a report in Tuesday’s Philadelphia Inquirer, saying the Bobcats were close to a deal to acquire Allen Iverson. “No. That’s the biggest crap I’ve ever seen,’’ Bickerstaff said of a report that Iverson killed a deal by saying he wouldn’t play for the Bobcats. “Our situation with Billy King,’’ Bickerstaff said, “would be acting as a facilitator if that works to help us.’’</div> Source
Yeah, there are going to be all kinds of crazy rumors. Don't believe everything you hear. I'm worried that this might be true though, because the 76ers got no young talent out of the deal. If they trade Allen to the Cats they better be getting Okafor, Felton, or Morrisson back.

Two hungry superstars that BADLY want to win a championship, I wouldn't bet against them.
Iverson made a good decision. It would be a pity if AI would've got traded to the Bobcats. He needs to join KG so both of 'em can get the ring together.

The TWolves would have to gut their team to land Iverson, and they wouldn't have the depth to compete in the West. They would be giving up a combination of Foye, Mike James, Ricky Davis, and Trenton Hassell.
Yeah, Iverson was mad to go to Charlotte so he decided that he didn't want to get traded there. It's messed up but on the other hand Philly would look sick and Charlotte would be even worse. It wasn't a good trade to begin with.
I would hate to see AI go to Charlotte just because I know he won`t get a ring any time soon, and I don`t think he has the time to become some kind of mentor for the young players.
