Some people are saying Igoudala is involved so that balances Biedrins. I do not care how good Igoudala is, there is no way a swingman and AI justify trading a legitimately developing 4 or 5.

Biedrins is the sole reason that there is a long-term future for the Warriors. Seeing him shoot free throws now highlights how much he can improve in a short time with good coaching.

We've been saying this for the past two years, without a legitimate big man, the Warriors have no future. Well he's here and Mully is going to trade him? If so, its worse than Webber leaving because Biedrins guards 5s without complaint whereas Webber pouted and wanted to be strictly a 4.

There will be snipers in Philly if Billy gives up Iggy in that deal.

Yeah, they're worse. However, consider this:

From what I understand the report shows no ill doings in this crash, yet the NYDN is hyping it like the 911 operator botched the call, or there's some conspiracy. "Full Dramatic Coverage on Page 5!"

Worst. Trade rumor. EVAR. If anyone was watching the game last night and thought "What we need here is AI in place of Biedrins" they need to not only be removed from their job, but removed from society. Who knows, maybe the Sixers leaked it to better their position with other teams.

Now here's a rumor from a more credible source, the New York Times:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Warriors’ second-year guard, Monta Ellis, has been compared to Iverson, and Golden State seems hesitant to relinquish him. A swap for Baron Davis may make the most financial and basketball sense, but it could also hinder Ellis’s backcourt development.

Executives at two N.B.A. teams with knowledge of the Sixers’ interest said yesterday that the Sixers were targeting Warriors forward Troy Murphy, as well as guard Jason Richardson. Richardson has a knee injury and Murphy did not play last night because of a sore right foot.</div>

i know what you mean. I was in class this morning checking the rumors and out of nowhere 3 more rumors pop up in a span of 30 minutes! Get this over with already don't touch anyone on our team except maybe Murphy!

</div>Yeah, JRich + Murph for AI makes the most sense to me. And I'm not so sure I'd mind that. We get AI without giving up too much of our core or future talent (I'm sorry, but I sadly don't consider JRich a critical component for this Warriors team at this time), and Philly gets back one very good player (and highlight reel maker) and one guy who at least has some talent and might be able to contribute in the right system (not Don Nelson's). Maybe you need to add a 2nd-round draft pick or Zarko. This removes one of our three worst contracts, but unfortunately the easiest one.

I don't include Andris, Monta, or Ike in any AI trade proposal, and for now I'd prefer to keep Baron. But if I put myself in Philly's postion, I probably don't trade AI to GS without one of them. A few good players just does not equal one great player. Not so much in terms of statistics, but in terms of media coverage, clout, buzz, or whatever you want to call it, there is no replacement for having a superstar on your team. I guarantee you Philly is asking for Biedrins or Monta, I just hope Mully is smart enough to not bite on that.

I'm sorry but I don't want the Steph/Steve show in the Bay Area. Baron + A.I. = disaster IMO.

Well, it'd be tough parting with JRich, who has been the heart and soul of the team. Murph? Not so much.

Who knows how AI and Baron will play together? Man that is wild to think about? Who becomes the leader?

In any case, if I were Mully I would want a big man included for that deal. If 76ers give back someone like Steven Hunter, then it would at least make some sense.

Still, Watching Murph and JRich become the dynamic duo in the East would suck lol.

I disagree. I think Baron would compliment AI's game. Baron's proven to be a team guy. I think he still takes shots he shouldn't, but that's because of the talent that's around him...who else has the confidence to win or lose a game on the last shot? Baron was quoted this morning on the radio saying him and AI would make a killer backcourt. Baron's a PG, AI's a SG. it would be pretty awesome, actually.

That said, I still like J-Rich's size, rebounding, and athletic ability over AI's.

    I see a lot of:
    "I don't want AI in ______"
    "This deal isn't worth it"

Obviously, AI's value is pretty low and Davis+Biedrins+Filler for Iverson is a total ripoff for Warriors.

Fellas and Gals (hope they're some out there),

No need to get your undies in a bunch over these rumors. That's just what they are. Rumors. And you know how vicious rumors can get.

The best thing to do is take it with a grain of salt. A good way to look at these trade articles (albeit disturbing) is like someone posting their opinion on here. Or this could be what Billy King proposed because it's so lop sided. What we don't hear is what Mullin's response was.

It prolly was something like. Bwahahahahahahahahahaha. <click> <bzzzzzzzzzzz - dial tone>. Or Billy, you gotta be laying off that crack, you here? Or something you can't print in a family newspaper. [IMG]

    Today's another day. Carry on.

I wished the Fisher signing was just a rumor. That happened out of nowhere. And the Montgomery hiring, and Foyle...what a terrible summer.

no[IMG] ...it would make it just a bit more pathetic.[IMG]

Hey...hope you don't mind we are goin' cheapo, dumping the future...but we WILL have the consolation of having a FAMOUS GUY from back east to market.

Stay tuned for Ike Diogu for Cliff Robinson and cash.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The only reason a team would take A.I. is for a "quick fix". The last thing the Warriors need is that. While we aren't that good of a team right now, we have the pieces (Ellis, Biedrins, Diogu) to become one in the future. By trading them for A.I. would be a mistake and could destroy what could become a great team. I'm not looking for short term success. A.I. is great, but he's old and there isn't any upside. He'd only help us for a few years while our youngsters could be our core for a decade.

A perfectly normal response. [IMG] [IMG]

I sure hope Mullin was not trippin' on bad 'shrooms [IMG] or whatever might make trading Beans to just get older seem like a gain.[IMG]

I do not see Iverson as a guy who smoothly blends in. he's a guy the Sixers catered too, designed everthing around...and the end result? Check the standings.[IMG]

Nellie has just got a 32/11 game out of frakin' BARNES,a walk-on.
He has got 3 30+ games from Monta+ Biedrins-who Monty saw as bench guys, who ain't yet 22. Last night Dunleavy (aka "Sucks") had a stat line you might expect from a star. Given a bit of time, everyone healthy, what can Nellie do with J Rich,Murphy,Ike,ZArko? We don't yet KNOW but I'm guessing we'd be pleased and surprised.[IMG] -and added to the gains for others...we'd be a steamroller[IMG]
